My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am an artist/musician living on the east side. I teach at a college in the area and perform/build/install things around town often. I moved here (from the midwest) several years ago to go to grad school and ended up staying.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Day job = teaching/running a fabrication lab at a college. The rest of the time I am either attending/performing shows, going to gallery openings/museums, cooking, reading, causing a ruckus, going for walks (ruckus causing is optional in this case), etc.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I dislike bragging, but love this:
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My voice is rather loud. I think it is not so much the volume but the timbre. Nonetheless, often times I am told that I am heard prior to being seen.

Frequently people draw pictures of me and reduce me to three features: hair, beard, glasses.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Great Gatsby and Silence are easily my two favorite. I also like anything by the following people: Ashbery, Diaz, Mitchell, Hejinian, Carver, Hillman, Vonnegut, Hempel, Lin (Tan, not Tao), Myles, Heidegger, Badiou, Zizek, Freud, Marx, Kant.

Movies: Playtime, Sans Soleil, The Jerk, Glenngary Glen Ross, Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, anything by Hitchcock (particularly Rear Window and The Birds), anything by Godard, Tarkovsky...blah blah blah.

Music: I make it a point to listen to as much music as possible, but my entire artistic background is in classical music. I am mainly interested in experimental music, improvised music, computer music, and sound art stuff, but love lots of music. Lately I have been listening to a lot of late-sixties/early-seventies Bob Dylan, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Songs: Ohia, Sun Kil Moon, Annea Lockwood, and Kevin Drumm, to name a few.

Food: Anything vegan. I love broccoli the most out of all other vegetables. Coffee is one of my very favorite things in the world. I love cooking, but also really enjoy going out to eat. Note: It does not bother me if you are not vegan, and I try not to be a dick about it (i.e. I will not lecture you if you have a different diet than I do). Despite the fact that I do think its the moral way to eat, I hate hate hate insensitive proselytizing.

Shows (assuming this means TV): Twin Peaks. That is mostly it, though I infrequently watch other TV. Twin Peaks is all that really matters, though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Art/music (in general),
The ability to build/make things,
Expanding this list to seven: saxophone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What is making that sound, how something was built/should be built, fragments of something I am reading, several second loops of songs on repeat endlessly, the passage of time, observed patterns in nature/my surroundings, what I will cook later, robots, coffee.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Lately one of the following (or sometimes several of them): in working on a project, performing, at a rehearsal, at a friend's show, with friends at a not so loud bar with nice beer/liquor and (ideally) an outdoor patio area.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like art/music/design (or you do those things), enjoy conversations over coffee, like exploring new things/places, enjoy longmont potion castle, want to build a tree fort/find a tree fort/build any sort of fort, are not a robot. Or if you want to debate whether or not this rumored reboot of Twin Peaks is a good idea or not (even if it is made up).

Also, please notice that I do not have "new friends" in the "I am looking for" section above. I'm not opposed to that happening as a byproduct of any interaction, however that is not my primary motivation for using this site.
