I am coming, seeing, and conquering.

My Self-Summary

I'm Alex. I live in Brooklyn, and grew up in the suburbs. I'm quiet, though with good company I can become quite animated. When with friends, I'm usually playing games, getting drinks, seeing movies, or hanging out. When alone, I'm usually working on a website, taking a walk, or making faces at my mirror. My pet obsessions include James Bond, politics, graphic design, and certain electronics, though I do a good job of keeping those obsessions in check around others. I enjoy long, passionate arguments about the news, art, technology, life, or what have you. I'm often sarcastic, but never cynical.

The most pain I ever caused anyone was in sixth grade when I played with a dead bat minutes before my ballroom dancing class (I was 11 at the time). Long story short, the half-dozen girls I danced with that night had to all get rabies shots in the days that followed.

I was stoned off of anesthesia when I first came out of the closet.

I'm not so into clubs.

I am much better at chatting than writing about myself, so say hi!

What I’m doing with my life

I graduated college in '07. Right now, I enjoy being a graphic designer. Beyond that... I prefer not to make long-term life plans, as there are numerous occupations that attract me, and I'm never successful at narrowing them down. I'd sure love to one day be a teacher, an actor, a journalist, and a dozen other things. How would I begin to make a plan? The oft-given advice of "find what you love" seems to imply that I am destined for exactly one thing, but I know I'm always very happy with what I do so long as I am among fun, creative people.

I’m really good at

I'm good at playing twister, egyptian ratscrew, or any other game that involves my long limbs or fast reflexes. I'm good at correcting grammar, at giving well-grounded advice to everyone but myself, and at any task that demands a comprehensive knowledge of James Bond movies (though, to my detriment, such tasks are few and far between).

The first things people usually notice about me

My tall-and-skinniness.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Harry Potter. There will be more favorite books to come. I literally just discovered a few months ago that I enjoy reading, and the Harry Potter books are all I've had time for since. I know I have a lot of catch-up to do.

Movies: Rocky, E.T., Big, James Bond, Terminator 1 & 2, The Sandlot, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Misery, The Great Escape

Music: My collection is mostly classic rock, but I'll greatly enjoy anything that isn't too discordant for too long.

Food: Big portions of cheap food. I like Italian, Thai, Chinese, or most anything else. Hard boiled eggs, perfectly ripe bananas, pasta (any style), chicken, tofu, broccoli, cookie dough ice cream, and mango sorbet are staples.

The six things I could never do without

Family
Friends
Internet
A book
Pets (though, to be fair, I've been without any for years, and am still functioning)
Afternoon walks

You should message me if

you want to make a friend, you aren't too offended by silliness, and you've managed to read this far (which you have).
