My self-summary
I'm ready for almost anything, be it new and exciting or usual and comforting. I know something about lot of things and a lot about some things. I like a balance between routine and experiencing new things.

I like crafts and tinkering. It is nice to create something tangible when at work you create mostly intangible. I bicycle to work all year round. I like to skate during the winter time. I can juggle a bit (anyone can with the tiniest bit of practice), and hit some chords on a guitar.

Hobbies come and go and return. My latest hobby is miniature painting.
What I’m doing with my life
I work from management to execution, from embedded digital signal processing systems to consumer audio products.

I like playing games with friends, not so much computer/video games, but genuine tabletop games. But I would not say no to a session of retro video gaming either.

I photograph nature and its phenomena: halos, thunderstorms, solar and lunar eclipses. We last viewed the total solar eclipse of 2012 in Australia in perfect weather 150km west from Cairns. (The next solar eclipse trip will be into USA in 2017. Are you interested?)

During the summer I plant, mow the lawn, make firewood, cook lunch and dinner, heat up the sauna, and relax.
I’m really good at
I see the good in people, and get along with almost anyone.

I see the fun in everyday situations. I'm good at theoretical and also practical things, and I like working with my hands and mind equally.
The first things people usually notice about me
They see a smile on my lips and in my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favourites are science-fiction/fantasy (Chuck, Discworld, Wheel of Time, Doctor Who(et al), Babylon 5, Buffy/Angel, True Blood, Being Human(UK), Fringe), comedy (Red Dwarf, The IT Crowd, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Studio Julmahuvi, Spaced, Coupling), drama, and their combinations as books, movies or as TV series.

I like movies with a twist, that are off-format, or unusual mixtures of genres.

I cook food, I eat food -- Finnish, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, whatever, I enjoy a wide variety and will try almost anything. When I cook, I improvise to find new things that work together. I produce my own wine.

I play boardgames with my friends, including but not limited to Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars: Imperial Assault. We select a suitable game according to the players present.
The six things I could never do without
Time with friends, nature, something to do, feeling appreciated, down-time to recharge.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"Light, Min, I know you're a woman. I didn't mean any insult. You're a
friend, too. It's just that I feel comfortable with you. It doesn't matter
if I look like a fool with you. I can say things to you I wouldn't say to
anybody else, not even Mat or Perrin. When I am around you, all the knots
unwind, all the tightness in my shoulders I don't even feel till it goes.
Do you see, Min? I like being around you. I've missed you."
-- Rand to Min in The Wheel of Time:"Lord of Chaos"
On a typical Friday night I am
Recovering from my week, reading, watching, enjoying.
You should message me if
... you are not desperately looking, but are ready to seize the moment if things 'click'.
... want to enjoy a tabletop game, look at the stars, or hunt thunderstorms.
... can use a friend to clip, glue, paint, tie, sew, saw, cut, nail, screw and be silly with.
