My self-summary
I instigate many a too-late just-exciting-enough night.

I often try poaching eggs but fail miserably every time.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a Brand Strategist for a home goods brand (think Bed Bath and Beyond for the 1%) and I'm mad into it...but I promise I won't drone on regarding quotidian workplace situations.

I'm also going to shows (but less than I'd like), orchestrating dinner parties, constantly crafting a monthly playlist (what are you loving musically this instant - let me know...), having impromptu navel-gazey conversations with dear friends.
I’m really good at
Right brain/left brain synergy.
Colors and textures.
Mishearing song lyrics.
Interacting with strangers.
Finding the good antique/thrift/vintage spots in every city.
Cooking a bitchin meal based on what's in the fridge.
The first things people usually notice about me
Most days I've got pretty good game, sartorially speaking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I only read this if I REALLY LIKE someone. But I have buds who use this as like THE THING. So go forth and read, or skim, or skip.

Authors - Bill Buford, Michael Chabon, Gabriel Garcia Marquez,
Ann Patchett, Jennifer Egan, David Foster Wallace (nonfiction only), Tom Perrotta.

I tear out the best articles from The New Yorker then give them to friends (you know I like you if I give you a magazine clipping).

Moving Pictures - Billy Wilder, Terry Gilliam, Alan Ball, Katheryn Bigelow, Jan Svankmajer, Rian Johnson, big budget German Expressionism. Shitty action movies with lots of explosions and implausible chases.

Music - Anything that could be encased in the Wall of Sound, Jon Brion produced records, most Bob Boilen recs, sorrowful belty soul of another era, pop music that involves horn or string sections. I prefer the Lou Reed version of This Magic Moment and the Fine Young Cannibals (yeah you heard right) version of Suspicious Minds.

Food - I could write a book about it: well-seasoned, well-cooked, well-executed.
The six things I could never do without
- Measuring tape
- Red Lipstick
- La petite mort
- Trips (planes, trains and automobiles -- Not astral planes)
- Every single Pantone book. Even then one often can't find the perfect color. Who knew.
- Piles and piles of periodicals.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- How do we make the world a more hospitable place for our daughters and sons - so economic equality, social justice, feminism/humanism.
- nappeizers.
- Color stories.
- What happens to Nora when she leaves the Doll House?
On a typical Friday night I am
Tearing it up in a ladylike fashion (or not).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know how to drive but live for a good road trip.
You should message me if
You're ridiculously fun and understand the inherent adventure in adulthood. You're into brainy femmes. You're not totes vanilla.
