I'm a queer going to college in SoCal coming from a small farm in rural Nebraska. I'm currently home, but will be heading to Seattle in a couple weeks to do research with gender non-conforming children and how they understand gender (so, so, so excited!) - so definitely looking for people that will be in the Seattle area this summer!

Personality-wise, I'm an introvert. I really enjoy being around people I know well, but initial interactions are often intimidating and I do so enjoy my alone time haha. I'm (mildly (ok maybe not mildly)) socially awkward in large public gatherings and generally prefer small settings with people I know. Though, I do tend to warm up fairly quickly if given the chance. I'm also very curious and love playing with ideas in my head. In general, I'd rather talk about concepts and ideas than about other people. Always interested in hearing about new ideas and new perspectives.

Oh, and I'm an INTP for those that like MBTI (and really, who doesn't? Myers-Briggs is everything.)

Going to college and trying to figure out what I'm doing with my life basically. I feel like beginning senior year is an appropriate time for an existential crisis.

Also playing video games and rewatching TV.

(over)analyzing things, being super awkward, spending way too much time watching videos of competitive Smash, taking long showers (I know I shouldn't, but I just can't help it D:), looking at boys, using parenthesis (this one may be debatable), deconstructing media - especially TV, noticing the kyriarchy.

Probably height. Thought I've heard hair. Really I don't know, what's the first thing /you/ notice about me? :P

Books: typical fantasy/science fiction fare mixed in with some queer theory.

Movies: Memento, Requiem for a Dream, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potters, Miyazaki films, Perks of Being a Wall Flower...generally I just don't have a lot of favorite movies I guess. There's something pleasurable to me about a slow, repetitive story line that's broken up every 30 minutes to an hour. I really don't get it either, but I'm down for getting more into film - especially clever, interesting, and/or queer indie films.

Shows: Parks and Rec, Arrested Development, Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones, Community, Avatar and Korra, Please Like Me...various other shows too, I tend to enjoy TV more than movies for some odd reason.

Music: The XX, The Antlers, M83, Crystal Castles, Hot Chip, Sleigh Bells, Cut Copy, Beach House, Radiohead, lots of other stuff. Generally my music library looks like popular indie from 3 years ago.

Video Games: Mostly RPGs/Strategy. Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Dragon Age, Pokemon, Final Fantasy Tactics, Advance Wars, Smash Bros. Currently playing Borderlands 2 and enjoying it.

I think I'll do six things I /could/ live without instead:

1 The Gender Binary
2 Living in a very rural, conservative, religous, Midwestern farming community
3 Random Number Generators
4 The Patriarchy
5 Institutioanlized racism
6 Really, just people in general

Sex, gender, sexuality, identity, how to best min-max my next character, how internet personas are crafted and created, how to negotiate my queer consciousness while still enjoying gay culture, relationships between people and different modes of relationality, also boys, definitely boys.

Typically hanging out with friends if they're around. Maybe going clubbing, maybe just drinking and playing some video games or watching a movie.

I can't actually live without people, as much as I'd like to believe I could.
