My self-summary
I'm definitely not the average guy... So you should know off the bat that I have a very deep personality. I am kind of a walking contradiction, although on the surface I'm just a 26-year old former frat guy.

I am extremely passionate, especially about my values and ideals, but also one of the chillest people you'll ever meet (as my friends tell me). I am a sensitive guy but also very strong emotionally. Like many, I've gone through some life obstacles that have built my character.

I love DJing, shows, festivals, sporting events, road trips, and (good) parties, but also deep conversation, silent meditation and escaping into a good movie, tv show or album. I have a good sense of humor but am very interested in serious issues like philosophy, politics, economics, psychology, etc.

I am creative and love to write and sometimes paint on my own, so I am also a great communicator and know how to express myself when necessary... As you can tell, I really like for people to know me right off the bat because I think once someone knows where you are coming from ("sees you"), the easier it is to understand what you have to say.

So if I had to sum myself up in a few words: authentic, passionate, compassionate, creative, deep, insightful, fun, adventurous and very chill, intelligent and spiritual.
What I’m doing with my life
This is where the contradictions become most obvious. I grew up outside NYC, went to college outside Boston, then Georgetown Law while practicing a type of law I'd tell you about if I got to know you (generally, DC lawyering = lobbying).

After a rough four years, both personally and professionally, I finally made the crazy decision to stop practicing law (at least temporarily) to follow my dream and come out to California to get my MA in Psychology from a spiritually-oriented school in SF (bridging East and West... think Freud + Buddha).

Giving up an enormous salary to come out here to a fringy school was one of the boldest things I've ever done... and one that, thus far, has been the best decision I've ever made.

I have a ton of long-term possibilities, such as zen mediation/arbitration, policy work for the mental health community, being a writer and/or professor, the list is pretty endless now that I am in the field I want to be in. Lobbying in DC went against everything I stood for, so I am happy to be out of there (regardless of my need to change my standard of living).
I’m really good at
making those around me have a great time... caring for others and making them happy... keeping myself entertained... deep philosophical conversation... shallow political conversation... expressing myself... acting spontaneously... selecting music for different atmospheres... other things I haven't thought of... other things I shouldn't put on here ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
my good looks... ;) ... but really, maturity, intelligence, depth and kindness.

The six things I could never do without
1) My music
2) A toothbrush and toothpaste
3) A shower

That's pretty much it... I've scaled down my standard of living...

"The things you own end up owning you... It's only once you've lost everything that you're free to do anything." - Fight Club
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My psyche
The cosmos
How they relate
Philosophy in general
Ways to have fun
Ways to make money
Ways to change the world
That one thing that everybody spends a lot of time thinking about...
On a typical Friday night I am
Cozy on my couch watching a good movie or catching up on some TV shows, maybe listen to some music and meditate, or chill with my bros. OR go out raging... although that seems less often these days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Everything. Just ask me, and I'm pretty open-minded and will very comfortably listen to and/or tell anything private. I guess that's why I am training to become a psychologist.
