I am short, expectant, and determined.

My Self-Summary

I've moved a lot in the past few years, and I'm really looking forward to staying in one place for a while. I've finally got my own apartment, in my own name, with my own furniture, and am quite pleased with the whole thing. That's not to say that life is perfect, or that I don't have other things to accomplish, but for the first time in a long time I'm starting to feel settled.

Let's see, about me. Red walls, Audrey Hepburn, and fake leather couches. Furniture that's older than I am. Puzzles that never quite seem to make it off my kitchen table. Handprints on the wall. Shouldn't a person's home be a reflection of her? I'd like to think mine is.

What I’m doing with my life

I work in a little known and even less understood industry. At least, I don't understand it. Before I started this job I didn't even know it existed! I'm hoping to save up enough money to go back to school one of these days. Slightly undecided on a major, but I'm thinking nutrition - probably with a business degree as well. Possibly some language stuff too. Busy busy busy! And wouldn't you know I hate studying .... But hey, education is good. And what would the world be like if we always did only the things that we liked?

I’m really good at

Reading. Is that a talent? A more traditional talent would be music. Specifically playing the piano. I'm a classically trained pianist and have been playing for over twenty years.

The first things people usually notice about me

are my hair or my height. Sometimes my eyes, I suppose. Or my smile ... on the right day.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I'm quite fond of just about all fiction, but particularly fantasy (R.A. Salvatore, Elizabeth Hayden). Throw in some Diana Gabaldon and a little book called Good Omens and I'm delirious. Really just about anything other than horror, actually, and even then I'll make exceptions for Laurell K. Hamilton. When it comes to non-fiction, I like books that teach me something about whatever my current passion is. Right now that would be nutrition, decorating my new apartment, and building furniture.

Movies: Yay movies! Unless they're horror. I love action movies, drama, chick flicks (in moderation), and some comedy. Princess Bride, Serenity (like you couldn't have figured that out from my quizzes page, right?), The Boondock Saints, and Shawshank Redemption are some of my favorites. And, okay, even though it was technically a tv show and not a movie, I'm totally addicted to all things Firefly. Totally. Addicted.

TV: Dr. Who, NCIS, The Cleaner, etc.

Music: Ahh, music. Classical and opera and such are big on my playlists, as is jazz. As for anything a bit more mainstream, it just depends on the music and the artist, but if it's Top 40 or anything of the sort I probably don't like it. Most of the time I don't know what it is until I hear it, so asking me generally doesn't work very well.

Food: I'm really into fruit lately. Style-wise, I'm pretty into Asian. And I would have to say I have a weakness for warm chocolate chip cookies.

The six things I could never do without

1. books
2. my family
3. friends
4. days off to re-charge
5. chocolate
6. fruit

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My future, and how to accomplish my goals. Some days my thoughts stray more toward my present and what I'm doing right versus what I need to change. I also spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about whatever little fantasy world I'm reading about.

On a typical Friday night I am

working. Friday is my Thursday, and I work late, so my interesting days are more usually Sunday and Monday. That's my weekend, and I love it! Those days typically find me doing fascinating things such as laundry, napping, and hanging out with family and friends. Yes, laundry is fascinating. Or not. I suppose it's more one of the necessary evils of life. Yep, necessary evil.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I just about passed out when I got my tattoo.

You should message me if

you've made it this far down the page and find yourself still interested. Or if you just want to know what and where my tattoo is.

On the flip side, if you're a creep, a weirdo, or a stalker, leave me alone. Find someone else to harass.
