My self-summary
I'm down to Earth, because, you know, gravity.
I work only as hard as I must.
I hate laughing.
Knight in shining armour? More like peasant pushing the dung cart. Up hill. In the rain. It's a leaky cart.
I'm not always comfortable, strangers freak me out - unless they have candy, then we're good.
What I’m doing with my life
Grad school mostly, reading and typing, typing and reading. And not preparing for the zombie apocalypse.
I’m really good at
The whole computer thing. You know, e-mails, sending e-mails, receiving e-mails, deleting e-mails... The web, using a mouse, mices, using mice. Clicking, double clicking, the computer screen, of course, the bit that goes on the floor...

Learning new things. Currently, since I plan to use my bike a lot more, it's basic bicycle maintenance. And, provided with a recipe, I'm able to do more than just boil water and no one has to call the fire department.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that despite being from Mars, I am neither green nor grey.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I enjoy the works of Christopher Moore (Lamb and Practical Demonkeeping), Philip K. Dick (The Man in the High Castle and The Penultimate Truth), Joseph Heller (Catch-22), Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Geoffrey Chaucer, and Jonathan Swift. (I love satire, can you tell?) But Tolkien has been my favourite author since my father read me The Hobbit as a bedtime story when I was young.

Movies: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead, I Sell the Dead, Primer, Office Space, Dr. Strangelove, A Scanner Darkly, Blade Runner, Catch-22, any of the Universal monster movies, Kevin Smith movies.

Music: Hmmm, an eclectic assortment. My music player currently houses Mozart, Tchaikovsky, The Beatles, Arlo Guthrie, Bunny Wailer, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Rush, Yes, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Dr Steel, L'avenir, and Emilie Autumn, among others.

Food: Sushi, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Currywurst, grapes, and kiwi with the skin still on.
The six things I could never do without
Books (I'm a bibliophile.)
Pen and paper.
NPR
Open skies
Quiet time
Maslow's Hierarchy
On a typical Friday night I am
reading... Probably either a JASIST article or a chapter from a text book. (Why would I want to read anything for fun?) And watching German Expressionist films during study breaks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I prefer to wear toe socks if I have to wear socks. And I have an awesome case of severe acrophobia. I will not skydive, and if you can get me to try rock climbing or rappelling... well, then, bravo, well played.
