I am quirky, imaginative, and adjective.
My Self-Summary
Self-summary eh?
Well I guess it started roughly 20 years ago in a dark cave with a
ray of light poking in. That was the moment that changed the rest
of my life.
It allowed me to learn how to play piano, guitar, clarinet, bass
and drums. That eventually led to my love for films and got me
interested in making them myself. Now I'm in university taking
TV/film production and I've got my own small production company
where we write, direct, shoot, edit and act in our own comedy skits
and shorts.
However, bizarre comedy and spending most of my time in the company
of guys doesn't translate into meeting women.
And that brings us to this moment right now!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently writing skits, shorts and I have a feature length
film script in the works (just give it 5 more years, promise.) I'm
halfway through university, and I hope to have a pilot episode for
the sitcom I'm working on done by next year to pitch various comedy
channels.
That and eating as much pie as I can.
I’m really good at
Eating pie like I said.
Guitar, piano, bass, drums...and clarinet
Soccer, frisbee, parkour/free-running
Making people feel comfortable/laugh
Self-deprecating humour
Sleeping in (I might be the best, now that I think of it)
Writing/directing/editing
Coming up with things on the spot
Not studying and passing tests
The first things people usually notice about me
That I was clearly never read to as a child.
The SECOND thing would be my sense of humour, which largely has to
do with the first thing.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'm a huge reader, so I'll just go by genre. I mostly enjoy fiction
books but I do often read non-fiction. Fantasy, drama, thriller,
some sci-fi (I'm not a nerd though) and I love Shakespeare. I like
to think of myself as a modern Shakespeare, minus the talent and
such.
Movies, again, too many to name, but a few would be: Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amélie, Waking Life, Triplettes of
Belleville, James and the Giant Peach, Across the Universe, Into
the Wild, Wall-E, Slumdog Millionaire, Harry Potter movies and a
whole bunch of others.
I love music. Period. Some of my preferred artists are Led
Zeppelin, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bach, Barbatuqes, , Beethoven,
Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Bonobo, Brad Mehldau,
Cream, Common, Crown City Rockers, Curumin, Cut Chemist, Cypress
Hill, DJ Shadow, Fat Boy Slim, Flight of the Conchords, Fugees,
Guess Who, Herbie Hancock, Jim Noir, K'naan, K-OS, Kenny Dope,
LAGQ, Lily Allen, Marvin Gaye, Mason Williams, Matisyahu, MGMT,
M.I.A., Miles Davis, Mos Def, Neil Young, Nortec Collective, Oscar
Peterson, Outkast, Peter Bjorn & John, Portishead, Radiohead,
Rage Against the Machine, RJD2, The Black Seeds, The Roots, Sergio
Mendes, Sister Nancy, St. Germain, Stars, Sublime, Vince Guaraldi,
Weezer, The Who, and everyone else
The six things I could never do without
My guitar/piano
Books (of the reading variety)
Copious amounts of food
Family/friends
My notepad
Change of seasons
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why I can't see my own forehead.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either writing, with friends, at a movie, walking around or at the
local discotheque.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
is that I sometimes touch the wall beside my bed very, very gently,
knowing that I'm the only person in the world that can hear
it.
That, and I still eat baby food...
You should message me if
you like pina coaladas and getting caught in the rain.
