My self-summary
i am a freethinker living in the constraints of modern american conformity.

i am passionate about learning purely for the sake of learning, and it's a bonus whenever it becomes useful information.

by nature i am an introvert (intp or intj depending on the situation), however throughout my life i have become comfortable and confident enough to morph into the rarest of the rare, the elusive social introvert!

even though i consider myself intelligent and ambitious, i don't take myself too seriously, and i prefer to avoid those that can't let their hair down. above all else, i value authenticity.

i am extremely health conscious. I love juicing and making smoothies, i can't get enough fruits and vegetables, i buy organic whenever possible, and i rarely eat fried food or fast food. bonus points if you know about bpa, gmo, triclosin, and phthalates.

this guy reduces, reuses, and recycles, as i am a huge fan of this big sexy planet.
What I’m doing with my life
for a j.o.b. these days, i am doling out drugs like they're candy and hitting doctors, nurses, and patients with some medicinal knowledge (i.e., a clinical pharmacist in a hospital). i am extremely proud of my career and the dedication that it took to get to this point, but with that said, life is too short and beautiful, and i have far too many interests and goals, to dedicate my life to my profession. i clock in, i do what needs to be done, i do it exceptionally well, i clock out, and then it's my time to do anything and everything except pharmacy.

working on rekindling old friendships, as well as sparking new ones with like-minded individuals.

enjoying practicing meditation and mindfulness (and some other cherry-pickings from buddhist teachings) and incorporating them into my everyday life.

getting back into running, working out, and yoga because endorphins are your best and happiest friend.

playing with my dog, a tibetan terrier named westin, as much as possible. he has the most incredible personality of any dog i have ever met, and even though his stubborn and mischievous nature drive me crazy, i wouldn't have him any other way.

contemplating a move to a larger city that is more in-line with my values and the way that i want to live my life. top contenders are chicago, boston, seattle, portland, denever, san diego, and minneapolis. if you have recently moved to any of these cities, please send me a message telling me about your experience.
I’m really good at
studying, researching, analyzing, and absorbing information

dry humor

finding the balance between talking and listening (thanks to an ever-useful undergrad degree in psychology)

handstands, back-handsprings, back-flips, playing on monkey bars, and climbing trees

being mindful and seeing the simple beauties in nearly everything
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books:
after a (far too) long hiatus from reading novels, i am making more time for this and am very happy about it. i do not gravitate toward any particular authors (minus my obsession for stephen king books when i was younger). inevitably i will pick a novel full of macabre, psychology, or dystopia. i will also read a biography from time to time (next up is hard choices by hillary clinton). the two novels that i read in may were, dark places by gillian flynn and the first fifteen lives of harry august by claire north.

movies:
(1) shawshank redemption
(2) silence of the lambs
(3) v for vendetta
(4) kill bill vol 1
(5) kill bill vol 2
please refrain from psychoanalyzing this list because that would undoubtedly lead to me being single for life :)

shows:
i have been fortunate enough to see a great many shows and performances, however the list of what i still desire to see is endless. some of my favorites thus far include:
wicked
dreamgirls
urinetown
west side story
my fair lady
i also go to every cirque du soleil show that i can make it to.

music:
i am a simpleton when it comes to music. for the most part, i'm terrible at knowing the names of songs or bands, it either makes me feel good in that moment or it doesn't. i will enjoy a song one day and refuse to listen to it the next. sometimes i'm affected by the lyrics, sometimes the beat, and sometimes the voice of the singer.

my staples are jack johnson, dave matthews band, barenaked ladies, the postal service, death cab for cutie, bob marely, nina simone, blink-182, red hot chili peppers, nirvana, and madonna (1980s only).

in addition, whatever is hopping under the alt/pop/rock vortex (currently, bastille, foster the people, mgmt, fun, ed sheeran, matisyahu, empire the sun, matt and kim, owl city, muse, michael franti, capital city, and passion pit)

going to concerts always puts me on cloud nine (and no not because i was smoking pot). i definitely want to go to more concerts asap.

food:
i am a food junkie. there are very few things that i will not try. sushi, thai, indian, moroccan, and italian are my favorites, and i try to make it to every food festival around town. i am not a vegetarian however fairly often i will choose vegetarian dishes. i also enjoy cooking, especially making pasta and pasta sauce from scratch, but i still have a lot to learn in the kitchen. i rarely buy fast food and i try to buy and eat healthy and organic as much as possible. for me, going to whole foods is like children going to disney world.
The six things I could never do without
other than the bare bone essentials to survive (air, water, food, sleep, and iced coffee)...

(1) ugh, i have to say it, phone/internet/computer
(2) fruits and vegetables (i simply would not want to live without them)
(3) my contacts (i would hate to not be able to see the beautiful things that life has to offer)
(4) traveling (so many places to see with what seems like so little time)
(5) one best friend (preferably more but one will do)
(6) any outlet to decompress (meditation, yoga, running, or reading)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
that there truly may not be any guy for me in this area. if we do not live close, don't automatically rule out getting to know me because if you are the real deal and we jive, i wouldn't hesitate to fly out and go on a date or two while i explore a new city, or we can rendezvous in neutral territory exploring a city together. that would be quite an adventure and a memorable first date!
On a typical Friday night I am
i might be at home curled up in my puffy comforter on my couch reading a book with my dog by my side, or i might be walking around some of my favorite areas of cincinnati conversing with my best friend about whatever deep philosophical dilemma one of us in grappling with, or catching up with a friend over late night appetizers and wine, or going to see a movie with my brother and nephews, or going to a cook out or bonfire, or going on a date (maybe with you!?).
I’m looking for
  • Gay guys only
  • Ages 23–36
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
your response to my profile was one of the following:
he's handsome...
he's funny...
he's awesome...
i definitely want to know more about this guy!

you have short term dating goals that consist of intelligent, thought-provoking conversations, eating amazing food at eclectic restaurants around the city, going to food festivals, hiking, running a 5k, going to yoga, concerts, museums, indoor rock climbing, miniature golfing, frisbee golfing, climbing trees, or making chalk art.

that could turn into long term dating goals that consist of going out with our small group of wonderful friends for appetizers and wine, grilling out with family on the weekend, being wrapped up together in a puffy comforter while watching a movie, walking my (or our) dogs together, singing loudly but off-key in the car together, donating our time, money, and efforts to worthy causes, traveling the world together, and having the most amazing sex possible!
