My self-summary

[ I write and rewrite this section a lot. Mostly because I have fun writing it in different ways. ]

tl;dr = ISFJ for those interested in that stuff.

Hi. I’m Kevin. I picked a terrible username. I'm sorry! I don't know what I was thinking!

I’m a nerd, but probably only fit some of the stereotype. I know you might think it’s not politically correct to label someone under a stereotype, but it’s fine. They exist for a reason. It gives you a good general idea of who I am. I have my anti-social moments - mostly due to my poor ability to navigate large social gatherings, but I generally enjoy talking to people. Plus, I think most of us could relate to wanting some alone time every now and then.

Outside of this stereotype, though, I’m a caring person. I approach each person for who they are. I am not here to make fun of your life choices or weaknesses. I am here to treat you like someone who deserves to be listened to and cared for. One of the easiest things you can do is actively listen to someone. People like to talk and they also are just looking for reassurance that their way of life is just as valid as anyone else’s. I will most likely provide that validation.

I seem to be the go-to person for if you want a simple logical answer. I’m not devoid of emotions - far from it, but I don’t let them come into play during some decisions. I always look at both sides of every story and put myself in each person’s shoes. I look at the long term outcome over the short. The answer is often one you already knew, but wanted to hear it from someone else.

I am pretty introspective at times and always try to be aware of my impact on others. This is to a fault as I can go out of my way to avoid a negative impact.

I probably favor indoor activities slightly more than outdoor ones. I enjoy traveling, but don’t do it often enough. I am usually more excited at all the new places to eat, than the actual event.

My patience level is nearly unlimited - which is good in my line of work. But it also helps me deal with a lot of other problems life tries to throw at you.

At the end of the day, I just like to wind down and play some videogames and act goofy if I’m entertaining friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do IT work at a retirement community. It's great. I work with both employees and residents. The residents are very happy to have someone show them how to access their email or how to copy and paste and to treat them like a normal person. Age is just a number and it's never too late to learn something new. :)

Outside of that, I have been heavily involved in a national charity event called Extra Life (shameless plug | extra-life.org). I help manage the local group here in Indy. All the money we raise here goes to Riley Hospital for Children. This is my 7th year taking part in the event and our second year as an organized local group.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Pretending to know what the hell is going on. Seriously, I have no idea what I'm doing. Ever.

I'm good at listening to everyone. Your input is important to me until proven otherwise.

Giving logical advice.

I am told that I am very methodical when I work. I try to be as efficient as possible, while still having fun of course!

That guy people seem to trust in any situation. People constantly come up to me and give me shit or ask me questions.

Giving animals voices.

Quoting movies way out of context.

Knowing a little about a lot.

Acting quickly when shit hits the fan.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching a movie or playing a game with a friend(s). I enjoy a much more personal atmosphere with good friends. This is not to say I won't go out to events. I love concerts, movies, plays, shows, etc. You will rarely find me in a bar / club / whatever the social standard is, however.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Negative! I am a meat Popsicle!
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I'm pretty easy to talk to, so shoot me a message if you're interested. This works both ways in today's society. More than one short sentence would be great!

Fill your profile out, please! That's what it's for. I will read the whole thing. If not, you better send a really good message. Write as much as you want. I'm not someone who gets bored after three sentences. If you can sum up your personality and life in three sentences, color me impressed.
