My self-summary
Greetings my fellow earthlings, ummm brave date seekers. Je m'appelle Stacey. Et vous? (the extent of my French other than food words)

7/25/14 -- I'm a work in progress, but aren't we all? I've lost 50+ lbs. recently and counting, but always awesome. Put some new pics up, check it!

6/10/14 -- I haven't been all that busy on this site as of late. Been focusing more on myself (lost a good amount of weight recently with more to go so yay me! will post new pics soon) and trying to spend more time with family and friends. As the summer gets underway I wouldn't mind meeting someone cool to pass the time with. Mesmerizing kissers go straight to the front of the line, so if ya like what ya read, apply today for this amazing offer!

7/30/13 -- So I had a discussion with my boss about relationships and he was telling me to date within my culture. So I've been giving that some thought and I've come to realize that I should be dating within the geek culture. I am a comic book geek myself, not a gamer, though I do like strategy games, but when I date men who are not into things like Star Wars, ZOMBIES!, GoT, comic books, other geek stuff (like being an actual geek fixated on a particular hobby), whatever, we tend to have little in common. So, where all my geeks at?! Come hither!!

I love meeting new people and dating can bring out the bizarre in all of us, but sometimes bizarre can be fun! I like party games a lot (Taboo, Name 5, Apples to Apples, Pictionary, Cranium, Scattergories, Cards Against Humanity, I own a lot of party games). Has anyone ever heard of Robo Rally though? I am trying to find more people interested in playing this game. Who's with me? I even carry this game around in my trunk cause you never know!

I am originally from the DC area - a Maryland suburb to be exact - but have been in FL since 2003. My whole family now lives in FL and we are pretty close. I value closeness with one's family and find I relate better to people that also share this characteristic.

I am gainfully employed, I'm a homeowner who is very crafty at renovations (Next big project is building a two level detached deck overlooking the lake in my backyard! Gotta wait till my dad recovers from back surgery first. Once finished, it will be glorious.), and I own two cars because I'm not quite ready to get rid of my high mileage sports car just yet. I have two cats and a group of friends that I love to do random and planned things with. We all like deals and discounts - we're not cheap, but saving money is being responsible right? Right??

Now onto some fun lists!

I like (in no particular order):

-shooting pool (8 ball mostly, trying to reclaim the title of sidepocket Stacey!)
-making beaded jewelry
-waxing philosophic
-tennis (yeah, i suck but it's still fun)
-intellectual stimulation
-sensual intelligence
-lively debate
-cars (I own two)
-music (shows)
-getting my hands dirty
-meeting new people
-playing spades
-woodworking (i suck at using these right now but i have a scroll saw and a mini-lathe)
-trying new things
-cooking (i'm pretty spectacular in the kitchen)
-all kinds of (ethnic) food -- mmm sriracha!
-making lists

I don't like:

-sushi (sorry I know it's the new chicken
but not a fan of roe or seaweed)
-people that drive the speed limit in the left lane (not cool!)
-religion that thinks it can tell me I am sinful or amoral/immoral
-when people re-state the obvious in online forums
-most politically conservative ideology (lack of consistency in beliefs is the issue here)

-read a lot -- magazines, newspapers, fiction, non-fiction
-LOVE movies
-like to talk about anything and everything
-like to have good conversations (serious, goofy, funny, political, religious, sarcastic, you name it I'll have it)
-like to write things (and then expand in parentheses)

Politics and religion are sticklers for me – I am very liberal and non-religious (though I was raised Jewish and still feel somewhat of a connection to it). I identify as atheist. I'm at a point in my life where I have no interest in dating someone who is either religious or politically conservative, specifically socially conservative. If you are spiritual and believe in god, that's ok, though not preferable, because I understand the need some have to believe, but if you subscribe to organized religion, that is no bueno with me.

If you are against equality for LGBT folk, a racist, a bigot, don’t respect a woman’s right to choose, or lack consistency in your beliefs, please move on.

I find creativity, intelligence and a sense of humor very sexually attractive features. An attractive smile is a turn on! I also enjoy witty repartee so if all you can talk about is sports or cars (and mind you, i like cars, i own 2)...zzzz.

I like to think I am true to myself and my beliefs. I am looking for someone that knows who they are and where they are going. Please have some substance, goals, desires, ideas to share, personal philosophy, whatever. In short, please be real.

I am inquisitive, sapiosexual, and goofy.

Though I am very verbose (and even long winded =) in this profile, I recall numerous instances throughout my lifetime where I have dated men who exclaimed after our first make out session, something along the lines of, well, you are so full of energy and kind of silly and goofy a lot of the time, I just wasn't expecting all that passion. Believe it. Bad kissing is for suckers, and not the good kind.

Lastly, I have been using the app for awhile but had to log in via computer to rotate a pic, and happened to glance at the personality markers that I think are a result of the tests. And wow, most of that is so not me, so I don't put too much stock into the personality part of this profile and politely request the same courtesy. Instead, get to know me!
What I’m doing with my life
I work to pay the bills, though I do like what I do. Then I come home and play. I have a lot of different toys so playing is fun!

I've been thinking lately about getting my masters, maybe in criminal justice or even in social work, or poli sci, ahhh, so much to choose from! I've always had an interest in working for an NGO or non-profit that deals with race/crime issues or women's issues/reproductive rights maybe, but Florida is kinda the wrong state for that. Oh, how I long for thee DC. I have an interest in law school as well, and would likely go to Stetson. So many choices! Who knows what the future will hold for me!!
I’m really good at
-kissing (gotz to have skillz!)
-making people laugh
-writing (articulating my thoughts, most of the time)
-making jewelry
-weaving beads
-reading (comics, comics, COMICS - I imagine saying this with the voice of animal from the muppets)
-being all around goofy
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
7/5/13- Just started reading book 1 of Game of Thrones.
7/30/13 - I didn't finish book 1 and had to return to library because copy was falling apart, so now I must get on the waiting list again, le sigh.
8/7/13 - Thinking about looking into reading the Dexter book series since that show is ending soon and the author is writing another book.
8/19/13 - I got book 1 of Game of Thrones from library again, yay, but wouldn't ya know it, the cover is falling off this copy too! Irony!!
Feb/14 - On book 3, woohoo! I'm not this slow of a reader usually, I just read a lot of other stuff as well, magazines, other fiction, comics and a lot of online political shtuff.
4/14 - Dammit, I'm still reading book three! lol
6/14 - Still on book three =( been reading so much other stuff.

Books -- No favorites books per se, maybe some books from childhood like Bridge to Terabithia and The Ordinary Princess. Lately I've been reading a ridiculous amount of comic books. My collection of comics, graphic novels, is HUGE...seriously, I mean ginormous. I read a lot of different genres, even some stuff written for kids, there is just so much out there. My recommendation for a laugh out loud read: Sluggy Freelance is a must (originally and still is a web comic). I would start from the beginning to "get" all the story. All I can say is "I'm burning with goodness again!" lol. What else: The Walking Dead, new Muppets comics, Empowered, PS238, Amelia Rules!, The Goon, Wonderland series, Fables, and more! In case you haven't realized it yet, my name is not Abbey Chase.

Music -- favorite band is TOOL (seen 'em 5 times as of 2-7-12!). I like a lot of oldies (the real stuff, 50s and 60s) and I admit I am kinda out of touch with new stuff but not space cadet out of touch. I like it all honestly – rock, alternative, classical, instrumental, drums, bass, various world beats, musicals, techno, rap, hip hop, r&b, ambient, goth, hardcore, reggae, oldies, soft, pop, classic rock, Motown (love me some Motown!), and so much more. My tastes are very eclectic and I will listen to anything once to see if I like it, and then I’ll download the heck out of it! (thank you pirate bay). I love concerts, Florida kinda sucks for concerts though. Last one I saw was Heart last year (2013), those women still got it!

Love love LOVE movies. (pssst, i love them!) My dvd collection is pretty large (counting well over 700 now, so again thank you pirate bay) and my tv is as well. I am slowly but surely replacing my vhs tapes (again, thank you pirate bay), and yes I still have a lot of them and I actually use my VCR (though pirate bay has made my vcr obsolete in lot of ways). Yeah, I don't use my vcr at all anymore, pirate bay crushed its need! And no, I do not work for pirate bay. : ) Some faves are The Wizard of Oz, Dune, Alien and Aliens, The Last Unicorn, Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal but I like it all - sci fi an horror are my two favorite genres but I love everything really. Action is for theater and everything else is for my 55" =)

Some movies I saw recently:

American Mary
Oldboy (original)
Evil Dead (remake)
No One Lives (technically someone lived, liars)
You're Next (8/21-saw free preview, I'm one of those weird ppl that laughs at awkward moments during horror films, good

(psst, did i say I like horror films? cause i do)

I like and cook all kinds of food, but I love me some marinating and grilling. Some of my favorite cuisines are indian, thai, and mexican- i like it hot!
The six things I could never do without
My Cats
Writing implements and something to write on
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why so many people are morons, just kidding, but no not really. The state of the world and my place in it. How everything seems so fuct up as of late. Also, politics, world issues, sex and sexuality, social problems, race/crime issues. Why so many people in the world are racist? How so many Americans are still racist and do not understand why they are racist BECAUSE they are so racist! (check out Yo, Is This Racist?) Why is American culture still so anti-woman despite all this feminine empowering stuff? What American men are really angry about these days. Sex positivity and being GGG.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing wicked things.

Not necessarily on a Friday but I like dining out, movies, theatre (Straz, Ruth Eckerd, Mahaffey), concerts, museums, Tampa Improv, outdoor events like art shows, game nights with friends, potlucks with friends, cultural festivals, stuff like that. I like the theatre a lot.

Sometimes I just like to stay in. I've been obsessively watching a lot of horror movies lately.

Some recent shows I have been to:

4/13 - Madama Butterfly at Bob Carr
4/13 - Shen Yun at Mahaffey
6/23/13 - West Side Story at Ruth Eckerd
11/12/13 - Book of Mormon at Straz
1/00/14 - Porgy and Bess at Straz
2/9/14 - The Magic Flute at Straz
3/14/14 - Carmen at Straz
4/19/14 - The Wizard of Oz at Ruth Eckerd
6/14/14 - The Forbidden Planet at Straz

I'd love to get a small group of eclectic people together and have wine and cheese parties, or dinner parties.

I want to try one of those one course per home parties - a progressive dinner party. I love to cook!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I write erotica and I am very good at it. (please do not email me asking me for stories, thanks)

Also, I love to kiss. You can tell a lot about a man from his kisses and kissing style.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 25–48
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You can indicate you've actually read (at least some of) my profile, thanks. >8 )

You're awesome just like me. Let's share.

You're interested in a cool friend. All my male friends are my female friends' partners. I'd also like to meet some men just as friends that actually like to go out and do things.

You also read comics, let's compare favorites.

You are looking to meet a cool woman to date and actually go out and do things with. I am a pretty cool person to know and have a wide variety of interests. Also, I can talk about all manners of things - I am a sponge for information! I'm looking to share those interests with someone and learn about his interests as well, where somewhere in the middle, some of our interests collide.

You are honest, and genuine.

...all that being said, I try to be reasonable about responding to thoughtful messages.

(DISCLAIMER: If we have a low matching percentage I highly doubt we'd get along, likely because our politics don't jive with one another and/or you're religious and/or you have low sexual ethics. Anyway, something to ponder before responding.)
