I am moonlight, grapes, and forest song.

My Self-Summary

I identify with Master Shake, although we all have our Meatwad moments.
Dance parties at my place, every day at 3 pm. You bring the jazz hands, I'll play Queen.

I love nature and children and impromptu social gatherings and music and animals and yoga. I'm both lady-like and a completely... confidently... insane. I find the semi-colon quite lovely; wouldn't you agree?

I am a something of a singer, and you can hear the music I've recorded here: http://www.reverbnation.com/abbyjoie.
Now in Italian
Durante universita, studiavo la storia dell'arte in Italia a Roma. Ecco e' nato la mia dipendenza sul bel cafe! Come surreale, quest viaggo a Roma... e quanti cari amici ho trovato!

What I’m doing with my life

I'm pursuing grad school. I'm working, studying, and readjusting to Pittsburgh life, having moved back last summer. I'm also singing, making artwork, enjoying good company or solitude, as the mood strikes, and eating saltine crackers.

I take any excuse to make weekend escapades for camping trips, festivals, and road trips, and can be spotted dancing joyously on the playa.

I’m really good at

Singing, making people laugh, random artistic endeavors of any sort, going for walks/drives with no explicit destination and getting lost in neighborhoods or cities I don't know... and finding my way out.

The first things people usually notice about me

My voice. The volume of my voice. And my lack of control thereof.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(A) Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist. Middlesex. Eat, Pray, Love. Also a big fan of Kurt Vonnegut, Thich Naht Han, David Sedaris, Michael Crighton, Dr. Seuss, and The chronic (what!) cles of Narnia.
... anything with a pinko commie or hardcore feminist agenda.

(B) Moulin Rouge, I <3 Huckabees, The Godfather... 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Dmitri Martin... does NPR count?

(C) Gnarls Barkley, Saul Williams, Radiohead, Sia, Arcade Fire, The Shins, Gorillaz, John Legend, Weezer, Queen, Avenue Q, Phantom of the Opera, Chili Peppers, Sublime, Eryka Badu, Lauryn Hill, Moby, most a cappella, musical theatre, and jazz. I enjoy a bit of country music, especially while driving through those places where the signal on country music stations is strong, ya dig?

(D) I've been a vegetarian for more than half of my life -- though I've started to reincorporate fish into my diet for the sake of sushi and tuna salad. I love trying new foods. Some old favorites include coffee (real coffee, not sugar water + brown), pad thai, hummus and tabouleh, sauteed mushrooms, guacamole, chocolate, soup, brueggar's bagels, and of course, grapefruit.

The six things I could never do without

Music, water (for drinking, sure, but also for adventure!), fractals, chap stick, seasons, love!

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Eastern philosophy. The flaws of man. Religion, and the question of God. I think about music music music. Language -- I love "discovering" etymological connections. And finally... I think about why people write "ur" instead of "your," or even -- God forbid -- "you're." Are all those extra letters and punctuation marks really so daunting? Courage, lads.

On a typical Friday night I am

Searching for someone to smell my milk. Oh you know. When the expiration date on your milk is a bit "iffy" and you think it smells fine but... but wait -- a bit funky yes? Or is that just your imagination? Should you just grin and bear it and drink that milk? Are you WILLING to take that RISK!?!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am in touch with my third eye.

You should message me if

If you're an extrovert with sparkling eyes and a dancing soul.

I'm open to new friends in Pittsburgh, especially since I've recently moved back.

Finally, I'd like to get in contact with more musicians! Check out my music on my website (linked above.) :)
