I am stubborn, silly, and shy.
My Self-Summary
I'm generally a thoughtful guy who would like to pretend to be cool
and suave but can't help but be a giddy fool.
What I’m doing with my life
I've graduated with my bachelors in Computer Science and am working
at U of M. I'm mostly settling into an easier paced life for now
and would like to start on a masters in another year or so. Mostly
I'm biding my time to see what's on the horizon. That and building
out my interests now that I can. Next up, buy my dad's old
motorcycle.
I’m really good at
I'm told I'm a great cook and I really enjoy trying out new
recipes. I recently got good at making chicken gumbo and have been
working on baking sourdough bread. I've been told I'm good at a lot
of things but I honestly think that's just because people are too
intimidated to explore their capabilities. One should never be
afraid of trying a new hobby.
I'm good at dropping my silliness when I need to be serious.
Things I'm terrible at:
eye contact - I'm actually forcing myself to work on this and have
gotten better about it
cuddling - I've always been awkward at this.
lying - I honestly can't tell a good lie to save my life.
sleeping - I can be a bit of an insomniac sometimes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm quiet and stare off into space. Though when on the right
subject it's hard to shut me up.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Anything by Douglas Adams, Jeffrey Deaver, Shawshank
Redemption (Hated the movie with a passion!)
Movies: Wall-e, Ocean's Eleven,
Anything by Mel Brooks, Bruce Campbell, Broken Lizards
Music: I'm told I have a very eclectic taste in music (one of the
only times I hear that word used). Though I generally don't like
rap and generic country (blue grass and folk FTW). I can't name
artists or albums I just know what I like when I hear it. Also I
like independent, obscure, experimental, world type genres, check
out Falik on magnatune.com
I love all foods. I usually stay away from greasy foods though and
can't stand many sports-bars and sports-bar-like restaurants
because of the lack of non deep fried items on the menu. ( It was a
sad day when I found out people actually deep fried ravioli) I love
more authentic foods, like real mexican restaurants that serve
tamales, and cajun gumbo that actually has flavor instead of too
much salt and cayenne.
The six things I could never do without
Laptop, the internet and servers. (I'll lump that as one so it
doesn't seem so overwhelming)
And everything else:
2. A good cast iron skillet and a gas range.
3. Long conversations that last until 4am
4. A real bed (futons killed my hip)
5. Capoeira
6. A genuine connection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Programming and Servers, frankly I found the job that pays me to do
something I don't even consider work.
I think a lot about the future, sometimes too much and not in a
helpful way.
On a typical Friday night I am
Lately it's been hanging out with friends wine and cheese tasting
or driving out to some Capoeira event (hint: ask me about the
later).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I sing to Frank Sinatra songs while driving. I especially enjoy
"You make me feel so Young".
I avoid the camera like the plague. I'm comfortable with the way I
look but rarely take a good picture.
You should message me if
You have a passion for something in life and are some what of a
goof ball.
I don't care for people that need attention because they have some
issue to sort out. I can't solve that issue for you by lavishing
you with attention. I'm fine if a girl likes attention because she
has a genuine interest in me.
