My self-summary
I'm no longer looking for romance with anyone who doesn't meet these simple requirements.

1. You have to know what friendship is. I do. Explain it to me so I know you have a soul
2. You have to realize that American society is mostly a steaming pile of shit full of assholes. It's not a pessimistic thing, I just have a brain and choose to use it. Anyone who hasn't realized this is part of the problem. There's actually only one thing responsible for the many problems America faces today. Do you know what it is? I'd be happy to explain it to you.
3. You must appreciate honesty. 100% of women say they want an honest guy, but maybe 5% actually respond well to it.

Music is an obsession of mine. Some tell me I'm too obsessed with music. I say I'm just obsessed enough.

I'm really at the end of my rope meeting fake, selfish, soulless people. I know there are others out there who feel the same frustrations. We should talk.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to find my niche and sometimes making a lot of progress. I'm actually a part of the awesome foodie scene that's been growing exponentially in Connecticut, and I feel like I actually make a difference in peoples' lives. I'm looking for people who are interested in taking road trips to various farms, restaurants, and foodie spots in CT.
I’m really good at
writing, cooking, understanding art; especially music, intimacy, understanding people, political issues, philosophical issues, understanding different cultures, connecting with intelligent and good hearted people, swimming against the current, breaking down walls, getting shit on for it, not giving a fuck.

I'm Really bad at
Anything organizational, respecting the depth of shit that is modern American society, pretending that I don't have any faults, "picking up" women, joining the herd, following social and fashion trends.

Any asshole can talk about what they're good at. I'm interesting in people who have some spine. Tell me what you're shitty at. Chances are that I'll respect you for it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm easy to talk to, but have a unique way of thinking. I have a strong sense of who I am, and a confidence that's deep but not always easy to understand.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A.)Hunter S. Thompson, James Michener, Napoleon Hill, Amy Goodman, books about musicians, books about politics. I'm a big wikipedia junky. Currently reading: Life by Keith Richards, The Art of Non-Conformity, The Proud Highway, The 4 Hour Work Week, anything by Napolean Hill

B.) Almost Famous, Sideways, American Beauty, I Heart Huckabees, Gone Baby Gone, This is Spinal Tap, 40 Year Old Virgin, Genetic Roulette, The Wackness, and many more.

C.) Louie (my love life is pretty much exactly like that) How I Met Your Mother, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, The Ed Show, Democracy Now, Workaholics, Game of Thrones, 30 Rock, Bizarre Foods, No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, South Park.

D.) Music is my passion and obsession. I'm a music purist and can appreciate any music that's organic. I'll give anything a fair chance though.
The six things I could never do without
friends (real friendship is a rare thing in the information age)
red wine and whiskey
live music and my lps
food that makes me healthy and happy
personal integrity, which isn't popular, but I still embrace it
trails through the woods
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This quote: “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
George Bernard Shaw
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing whatever's good, or sometimes bad.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've had to constantly dumb down my profile on this thing.

I really believe that I'm the kind of guy that women usually pass up, but shouldn't.
This article provides some explanation.

You're not typical. The opposite of courage isn't fear, it's conformity.
