I am quiet, low-key, and a bit of a nerd :-/.

My Self-Summary

I'm a student and about a few months away from receiving my BA in media production. For the most part, I'm masculine guy that tends to speak with an OC accent and at times, can be a goofball. I enjoy going to the gym several times a week, killing an hour or so Wii-ing and emulating classic entertainment systems on my iMac. I love to kill time surfing on the web and I’ll play my sax once in a blue moon or scratch some vinyl on the turntables for some experimental mash-ups and such. My close family and friends know me well and I don’t really keep any secrets from them; we usually go out a few times a month i.e. to a baseball game, hikes to the Santa Anita Mountains or Mt. Baldy, movies, swap meet, PF Changs or the occasional bonfire ‘n’ carne asada on a Sunday evening--but of course, I love going out exploring, discovering and even traveling to new places. In a nutshell, I'm blunt but sincere, quiet but friendly, and nerdy but pretty fly for a Salvadorian-Spanish-Cuban-White guy.

The main reason why I created an account here is to hopefully find a few friends and yes, a relationship that hopefully develops into that strong LTR. I’m hoping to find a guy with a good sense of humor or can at least take a joke, help keep a conversation flowing, doesn’t mind staying healthy and hopefully isn’t feminine, lol.
Now in Spanish
A ver...

I’m really good at

knowing my way around SoCal. Being a DJ, I travel just about every nook and cranny in LA, the IE and the OC. I go to other parts of the golden state as well but either way, I like to think I'm good with directions, especially when it comes to knowing my way around the freeways.

I’m great with my finances, decorating for the holidays (prefer the outdoor yard décor rather than indoor but I still love it), and tutoring people with Spanish, photoshop and sometimes algebra. I’m really good at remembering the most random information--a conversation from an acquaintance, certain fads from the ’90s, the times certain TV shows were aired, etc… anything that I thought was significant to me. It’s also hard for me to forget a face and very hard for me to forget a unique name.

I'm also really good with chopsticks.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The last novel I’ve read was in my freshman year in college; I did enjoy reading American Literature back in high school; Catcher in the Rye, Of Mice and Men, the Color Purple—the whole idea of wanting to live the American Dream and the struggles people go to get there is inspiring. Might sound lame but I have a soft spot for stuff like that... Today if I’m not writing coverage for scripts I’ve read for school assignments, I’m reading sound/digital music magazines.

Movies: I have several favorites: Deep Impact, the Wedding Singer, Get Smart, Chicago, Bajo la Misma Luna, Changeling, 13 Going on 30, All over the Guy, Kissing Jessica Stein—I'm fan of indie films but the domestic comedies and action flicks are also entertaining... but they gotta be good.

Video Games: I'm a huge Zelda fan and just (I know it's a couple of years old) got into Zelda: Twilight Princess and I'm loving every minute of it... that can quickly add up to a few hours if I don't keep track. I own very few games on the Wii and only played a couple. Guitar Hero is awesome but in all honestly... I tend to stick to the classics; the games I grew up with: Mario Paint, Mario All-stars, Mario World 1 and 2, Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy, Super Smash Bros., Mario 64 and of course the entire Zelda compilation.

Television: As of right now my favorite show is Glee. It’s hilarious, go see it—even if you’re not a fan of musicals it truly is tastefully done and I swear it’ll make you laugh. I was into Desperate Housewives for awhile but it’s getting kind of old, but I still watch it. I love to DVR: I Love Lucy, Golden Girls, Family Guy, Law and Order: SVU, Clean House and yes, Project Runway lol.

Music: I have 100s of favorites in so many genres. Alanis Morissette, Michael Jackson, Ace of Base (lol), Gretchen Wilson, Taylor Swift, Gary Allen, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, U2, old school Cure, Def Leppard and Guns ‘n’ Roses, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Green Day, Gin Blossoms, Sound Garden, 3OH!3, old school Snoop and Biggie, SWV, TLC, Next, R-Kelly, Juanes, Selena, Miguel Mateos, Helena Paparizou, Los Hermanos Flores, Raya Real, Sergio Mendes, Shakira, Flans (lol), Celia Cruz, the list goes on really…

Food: Italian and Spanish cuisines are my ultimate favorites. I love to cook too… lately I’ve been into BBQing. A good BBQ with a few tapas make a great pair. Whether they’re a tortilla a la española, croquetas or a few empenadas, it always compliments the meat.

The six things I could never do without

Besides family and friends?

-my cellphone!
-my turtle Sammy
-my iMac
-my iPod
-my car
-a good pair of hiking shoes
-A/C (without the chance of a D/C-ion)
-deodorant and hair gel and I'm all set to go ;)

Oh well, I never got a long with six except for Six (from Blossom... so '90s).
