More than anything I love to learn and share knowledge. I am perpetually looking things up. I live simply, but fully. I work to live, not live to work. I collect experiences, not stuff.

I like science, nature, history, design, the Pacific Northwest, dry wit, cephalopods, staying up late, long talks with people I care about, breakfast at non-breakfast times, eureka moments, and portability.

I've been to 25 countries and I'm always thinking about where to go next. Nothing beats the excitement of waking up in a strange new place. I'm always up for anything.

I occasionally make websites when I need to top up my bank account, but otherwise do whatever I feel like at the time.

I had a quarterlife crisis when I realized I hadn't really done anything up to that point, so I quit my job, moved across the country, and started to collect experiences. It's the best decision I've ever made.

I like anything that makes me think, laugh, or expands my horizons. I read mostly non-fiction – popular science, history, travelogues, and long form articles.

I like dark comedies, documentaries, and anything by Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, Woody Allen, or the Coen Brothers. I've pretty much based my life philosophy on Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I grew up on Cuban food, and I'd love to share it with you. I also enjoy Italian, Mediterranean, and Asian foods. I like good, simple, natural food.

I seldom let my brain idle. I'm always reading, writing, thinking, planning, or doing something to occupy my mind.

None of my days are "typical" if I can help it. On any given night I'm reading, watching movies, playing trivia, poker, arcades, board games, at OMSI (After Dark, Science Pub, Star Parties) or doing whatever I've found that's new and interesting.
