My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm 23 and I live in northwest Indiana. I'm reasonably intelligent and I am very passionate about my interests. I'm a bit quirky and tend to have a unique perspective. That's not to say I'm a trend setter and that I have tons of ideas that will usher us into a brave new world, but rather that I tend to play the devil's advocate. I come off as a bit reclusive, but really, I'm not. People tell me I usually look either pensive or mildly scared. I really would love to be near a mirror when that happens. I have a tendency to write long-windedly. Not unrelated to that, I dig Dickens. Oh yeah, and my name is Michael. Mike is fine too, but if you call me Mikey you and I will engage in fisticuffs in a rousing bout of pugilism. That's probably the dirtiest-sounding way of saying that I'll punch you.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I'm taking a break from school and I am working. I plan on finishing school and entering medical school. I originally wanted more than anything to be an archaeologist. I used to dig all the time when I was a kid and when I would find anything I would just sit there and stare at it and try to guess where it came from, who owned it, and how it got there. It fascinated me that something tangible could contain so many profound secrets and be like a snapshot preserved by dirt. I was also always fascinated by the human body and biology in general, and would love to professionally be a medical researcher. Nobody likes death. Let's defeat it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
music, writing, and computers. I play a few different instruments and have written a few songs. I'm pretty good at making people laugh, or failing miserably with a joke and making it awkward. C'est la vie.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My remarkable handle on semicolons. You should hear the way they yarn on about it. My sense of humor and the way I talk. I'm not afraid to express my opinion, although I do know when to reserve myself. A lot of people are taken aback by how deadpan and stone faced I can be when I'm making a joke. We need Sarcasm Awareness Month in this country.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Anything by Kurt Vonnegut, Hemingway, Stephen King, Amy Hempel, Tolkien, and countless others. I read a lot of nonfiction. I love Jared Diamond and Richard Dawkins. I have a habit of trying to read too many books all at once. I always finish them, but sometimes it takes years because i have so many going all at once. I'm sure I still have a copy of "The Roly Poly Puppy" that I started reading when I was four years old that I have yet to finish. With music I'm kind of a mixed bag. I listen to a lot of classic rock like pink floyd and the doors, but I also like trance and industrial and classical. Basically anything that sounds good; I'm not genre-specific. My favorite movies tend to be either horror or sci fi, and for some reason I like war movies a lot. I love Star Wars, and, much to the chagrin of fellow nerds, I do enjoy the first three once in awhile. It's still canon, come on. I like Star Trek, Doctor Who (10th and 11th are the best IMHO and my humble opinion is pretty much correct), and, in case it hasn't been readily apparent, I'm kind of a geek.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My iPod or music in general, my guitar, my notebooks, my interests (not having any way to pursue them), and food and water, I suppose. Those are kinda important.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
oh boy. My mind is always working overtime which can get a little distracting. I think about really strange scenarios and what could lead up to them, or how life could be improved, and I'm often struck by inspiration at really inconvenient times. I have sleepless nights wondering why it's called a hot water heater, when it heats cold water which then becomes hot.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually going out to eat or to the movies, concerts, stand up comedy, or just hanging out and enjoying the start of a few days off.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to make Freudian slips. Hmm. I don't really know how to swim. I mean, if I were drowning I'm sure instinct would kick in and I'd be mostly okay. But it would look clumsy and awkward and I'd likely be laughed at by my fellow shipmates (I'm assuming that I'm the captain of a type of galley in this scenario). I've never watched the wizard of oz. Not once.

you'd like to meet or just talk to an open-minded guy who is pretty mellow but is definitely open for new experiences, is reserved but extroverted, has an opinion on just about anything and who has great passion and a good heart. I'll respond to everyone, no matter what. I think it's pretty rude not to.
