My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hm. I'm Andrew, 23, recently moved back to Cleveland after a brief stint in DC. I love to read, play video games, and drink good booze. I'll talk your ear off about politics or baseball if you'll let me, though I enjoy being with people who can return the favor. I think Russian history is fascinating. I'm the most gloom-and-doom sounding optimist you'll ever meet, because I don't believe we can fix anything if no one is willing to look evil in the eye. I really enjoy board games - Settlers, Axis and Allies, Risk, Acquire, Scrabble - and am always down to learn a new one. Also, Civ V and the Total War series take up more of my time than I care to admit. I enjoy a good debate and I admit that I'd be bored to tears if everybody all of a sudden started loving and respecting each other. No danger of that in the immediate future, though.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Law school has consumed me and I enjoy that way too much.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
RTS games, essay-length political rants, ending up in bizarre situations. I've gotten some excellent stories simply by existing...

I also play a mean 2nd base.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"You're so fucking liberal, I bet you took the right-turn signal out of your car." - a friend.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books/authors: Tolkien, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, The Great Gatsby, The Castle in the Forest, Grapes of Wrath, Sherlock Holmes, A Confederacy of Dunces, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, H.P. Lovecraft, A Tale of Two Cities, Kurt Vonnegut, anything nonfiction about World War 2 or the Soviet Union, The New Jim Crow, The People's Train, The Gulag Archipelago, Twilight of the Elites.

Movies: Saving Private Ryan, Shawshank Redemption, Major League, Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, Ocean's 11, Repo!, The Royal Tenenbaums, Airplane!, Animal House, Bond movies, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dark City.

Shows - House of Cards spoke to me in ways I'm sort of uncomfortable admitting. Better off Ted, Futurama, Sherlock, the Daily Show, and the Colbert Report are all pretty awesome too. Also the West Wing was amazing.

I didn't like Arrested Development. Feel free to express your distaste for me as a human being.

Music - Neutral Milk Hotel, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Say Anything, The Beatles, Tom Morello, Rage Against the Machine, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, the Flaming Lips, Tom Petty, Rilo Kiley, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Grateful Dead, The Mountain Goats, Bad Veins, CCR, Cake, Billy Joel, Franz Ferdinand, the Shins, Pete Seeger, Dead Kennedys, Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Simon and Garfunkel, Daft Punk, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, John Coltrane. So uh. Lots of things, I guess.

Food - Seafood is my favorite, but I like all sorts. There's very few things I won't eat...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Baseball season. Books that are so good that you *have* to read them all at once. The smell of the air after a rainstorm. Seasonal beers. Those conversations you have long after you should have gone to bed about life and the universe and what are we doing here really where everyone involved learns something fundamental about everyone else, and everyone gets to feel, for just a minute, like they're solving the deepest mysteries of existence. My lungs (hurr hurr no one has ever answered this with something literal, right?)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
humanity's place in the universe, what it means to live a good life, the state of the Senate, geopolitics, Browns draft picks, civil rights, where the USSR went wrong, whether there's a better system of government than representative democracy, the battle of Stalingrad, how to take over the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Anywhere on the continuum from "inside with a pizza playing Dungeons and Dragons" to "Drunkenly shouting at a beer pong table." Sometimes drunkenly shouting at a D&D table.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really like P!nk and trashy niche reality shows about tattoo artists or storage locker bidders or whatever. I don't know why, they're absolutely godawful but I watch them anyway. Also I'm in a way-too-intense fantasy baseball league.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- your smart or funny or opinionated or, preferably, all of the above
- you'd like to grab a beer at some dive bar then go watch a ballgame
- you understand why the view of downtown from that elevated part of the Shoreway is one of the most underrated parts of living in Cleveland
- you feel like it
- you want to teach me a cool board game (or play one I know)
- you caught that I used the wrong "you're" in the first one.
