I am sane, employed, and deployed.
My Self-Summary
I am a single father of three beautiful girls and two dogs. I would
love not to define myself with my occupation, but it is hard to not
do because I have been doing it since I was 18. I have traveled
around the world via train, plane, ship and automobile. I love to
go hiking and camping; sometimes in a tent, other times in a travel
trailer. I like to stay active and try to appreciate the finer
things in life. I like to think of myself as a pretty open and
honest person, so I'll try to answer any question you may have. I
like to laugh and have a good time. Life is just too short not to
be happy.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I am in Iraq working as an advisor to the Iraqi Army. I
advise the operations staff section of an Iraqi division located in
Mahmudiyah (mah-mu-d-yah), a small town about 25 miles south of
Baghdad. I do not do as much advising as I do shooting the bull
with the officers in the office. I have found that many of the
things we were led to believe about Muslims is not true.
I’m really good at
1) thinking I'm really good at something
2) wishing I was a really good mechanic
3) being proactive in my decision making and moving forward with
the decision
4) I like to think I am really good at being a dad. I still feel
and act young and love to do activities with my girls.
The first things people usually notice about me
..if they knew me from my teenage years would say, "What happened
to all of your hair?"
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like to read almost any book, as long as it has a good story line
and interesting characters. I'll read almost anything written by
Stephen King; even repeating it after a few years. I really liked
the Dark Towers series. Probably my favorite book is Once an Eagle.
Pat Conroy is also a very good author and his books are fantastic.
The Prince of Tides is probably my favorite book written by
him.
My music taste vary a little between country and rock. I like old
rock music from the '50s and '60s although I wasn't around then. I
like modern rock when working out or out cruising on my hog.
My favorite food would have to be Mexican food. Not the store
bought or canned variety, but the real stuff. Smoked brisket that
has been in the smoker for about six hours, topped off with
alvocado, pinto beans, and paired with fresh grilled corn on the
cob is to die for. It takes a while to cook, but it is so worth the
effort.
The six things I could never do without
My three daughters, my motorycle, the outdoors, good friends,
physical exercise and relaxation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What next?
On a typical Friday night I am
Right now I am deployed. Looking to being able to hang out with
good friends. When home, I can usually be found at the house
hanging out with friends, joking and drinking a beer or a nice gin
and tonic.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Are you crazy? This is something to be shared with a person, not
with the world.
You should message me if
You just want to chat and get to know one another. I will be home
in October for a couple of weeks and then have to return here for
another few months. I return from deployment in March.
