Having a good day entails adventure, relaxing activities, physical activities, writing, reading, and spirited conversation.

I have lived here in Western Carolina for the longest I've lived anywhere. Having been raised overseas in Germany by my teacher parents, I figure living in the mountains of Carolina closest to the rivers and mountains I have inside my body already.

Now that I have followed my family heritage into the field of teaching, I believe having the balanced life of activities that are learning centered and fun centered critical for my journey of life.

Being a part time dad each week allows for my life to strike a balance with hanging out with my son and finding time for my single life pursuits. This has been pretty nice even though I do miss being with my boy.

I like spending time outdoors exploring the trails of the mountains and the culture of the surrounding towns and villages. Hanging out in a tea or coffee shop sounds great to me.

Teaching daily is figuring out how to best serve the students as individuals within a class setting.

I like to bicycle through our beautiful WNC or journey to take in the scene. I want my heart rate to beat fast and I want the sweat to pour off my brow. I like returning to my fitness. It feels great.

Cycling is a big part of my adventurous life. From when I was 14 years old to now. I've raced bicycles, I've toured on a bicycle, I've dragged a trailer attached to my bicycle, I've had a good life with my bicycle. I have even ridden across the United States on my bicycle.

I'm driving to another youth soccer game, to witness eloquent foot maneuvering and subtle shifting one foot to the other foot before a sweet pass to another youth, a peer on his soccer team, my son commits his hours, upon hours to each season.

Remembering what life is about is easy. Staying within my breath is the tough part.

Keeping honest, no matter how tricky that becomes.
Focusing on the task at hand.
Getting distracted by the beauty of the river, forest, and trees.

Staring into a really tricky moment, one which scares me, and after a quick second or two or three I press forward anyway. I'm really good at being the fallible man that I am.

That I am me. My glittering shiny blue eyes. My smile, and the deep sense of humility I exude.

Food. Good food. I like Pandora. Spotify. Live music.

Beauty, a cause, wilderness, the wind in my face, rushing downwards, traveling water. Sunshine.
