My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm creating the next phase of my life and it's an unknown quantity. The new description for those people who want to keep busy/working/contributing is "retireless". I believe it fits me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it and enjoying it while trying to figure it out. Hoping to travel more to revisit some favorite places and see some new ones. Just got back from Madrid and I think I could live there. Love being able to walk everywhere - that's one thing missing from many places in the US.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Solving things and figuring out how things work. I'm good with words (as in puzzles and poetry) and colors (as in decorating, etc) and people (as in genuine ones) and animals (as in usually have pets but not at the moment)and food (cooking and trying new recipes).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile and my sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
All the Shel Silverstein books, reading poetry and trying to write it, Calvin Trillin's books; The Tempest, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Wizard of Oz, The Way We Were, Giant, Hitchcock movies; like so many different kinds of music - broadway musicals, Joan Baez, U2, Bob Seger, Dave Brubeck, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Beethoven, Moussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Blind Boys of Alabama, Porgy and Bess. Food, ahhhhh food. I like everything except mashed potatoes and grits - you have to do so much to them to make them palatable.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Reading, the arts, my daughter, travel, Guinness, my friends. Can I make it seven? Coffee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to make the most out of life. I'm curious about most everything -- the things I don't know and going in depth into the things I do know.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends for dinner, happy hour, music or movies, etc. or reading and/or watching TV at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'd probably have to know you a long time to admit anything really private.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You don't want to just sit on the porch and rock. If you are curious about life and about things you don't already know and places you've never been.
