My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm too hopeful to be considered cynical, and I'm too pragmatic to be the perfect idealist. I believe in moderation in most everything, and also that we should leave this place better than when we found it.

Despite my beliefs in moderation, I work too much, drink too much, and party too much - but then, I am too young, and too foolish, and altogether too savvy to draw in the reins just yet.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a headhunter for a company based in San Francisco. You guess the industry.

Otherwise, bumming around
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Starting and killing conversations. Watching scary movies. Negotiating with street vendors.

My hobbies, as I suppose I should call them, include playing the guitar from time to time, schlepping to museums and galleries, mucking about on the internet (plainly demonstrated here), and drawing shapely burlesque pinup models, clothed or otherwise.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not too noticeable...just another white girl working in the city.

A while ago I told myself the only books I would let myself buy would be poetry, because those I can read again and again - the rest I could get from the library. However, as soon as I said that, I bought another book.

There are certain books I find myself reading and rereading that tend to be dark and quirky, ones standing out including the Regeneration series by Pat Barker and the innumerable Bukowski novels.

My taste in music and cinema is rather eclectic, though I tend to veer towards older works. I am by no means "cutting edge" or "ironic" in any sense of the word. I listen to a lot of jazz, especially pre-war - think Frank Trumbauer instead of Frank Sinatra, and the Boswell Sisters instead of the Andrews Sisters. However, I do have a great appreciation of other music, from Queen to Sam Cooke to Nirvana to TLC to Girl Talk.

I like Fellini, Almodóvar, Tarkovsky, Jarmusch, Linklater, Kurosawa, Truffaut, Malle, etc. I like movies with a strong appreciation for the bizarre, without a conclusive ending. Movies that have really struck me and stuck with me, in no particular order, include Slacker (1991), The Return (2003), La Strada (1954), Down by Law (1986), Murmur of the Heart (1971), and Blow Up (1966).

Adventure Tiiiiime. I'm secretly a bit of a nerd who likes BBC game shows and crime procedurals...also I Reddit. Oh dear.

Only really spicy foods tend to turn me off - I'm a big baby.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Poetry, philosophy, music, empty notebooks, enlightening conversation, distractions.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
International politics, epistemology.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Drinking ever-so moderately. Whiskeys, neat, and with a glass of water. Feel free to join me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like to grope the big full flowers outside greengrocers'.
