I am quirky, brooding, and musical.
My Self-Summary
I don't really know what I want out of this. I'm a
quasi-goth/industrial/punk guy who digs industrial/experimental
music, and I feel kind of alone and confused in the city I am
presently living in. I guess I generally tend to get along better
with females than with males and am just looking to make
connections with people. Whatever develops from that can only be
imagined.
What I’m doing with my life
Graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2007 with a BA in
Communication and Culture. Somehow ended up back home in 2008 and
work in a warehouse - go figure. I make experimental
electronic/industrial music (with a few releases under my belt); I
am occasionally a radio and club DJ (notably I was resident DJ at a
club in Bloomington for 2.5 years); I've done writing for a
magazine. Still kind of looking for my calling I guess. Trying to
save up money for the time being so I can go somewhere more
exciting.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have spikey hair; I have a silly last name; I have a weird sense
of humor; I'm a good listener.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My roots are in industrial/experimental/ambient/electronic/technoid
music, but I always have my hands in other genres. Low, Autechre,
Nick Cave, Haujobb, Gridlock, Orphx, Magazine, Swans, Lassigue

Kool Keith, Chris Isaak, Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry, Woven Hand,

I like bizarre movies. Some of my favorites include (but are
certainly not limited to): Bad Boy Bubby, Koyaanisqatsi, Pootie
Tang, Alien(s), The Wicker Man (1973 version), Solaris (1972
version), Tetsuo, Frankenhooker, The Dark Knight, Lost Highway,
Falling Down, etc.
I own a fair amount of books but have only actually read about a
third of them (if that), so I guess that means I prefer buying
books over reading them. Typically I enjoy H.P. Lovecraft, John
Cage, J.G. Ballard, Carl Sagan, music biographies, history,
politics, graphic novels...
I love BREAKFAST! I also love Thai food, Italian, Chinese,
Japanese, Mexican, Turkish, moderately spicy stuff, etc. I tend to
eat junk food too unfortunately. I am certifiably omnivorous.
Generally speaking, I will eat or at least try just about anything,
but I have a noted distaste for mushrooms and cold tomatoes.
The six things I could never do without
Music, movies, people, the internet, bananas, myself.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think too much.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I've had some considerable history with depression. Trying not to
be too ashamed of it anymore. Really I'm a pretty good-humored guy,
but I'm definitely learning that I've gotta be up front with this
stuff.
You should message me if
...if you feel like messaging me, go nuts. I can't always guarantee
that I will be available or that I'll even be checking this thing a
week from now, but you never know. I like thoughtful, creative
people who enjoy conversation, hanging out and listening to
music/watching movies, and have a sense of humor and a relatively
small number of taboos. I also like a lot of weird music and stuff,
so it's a plus if you're into that sort of thing.
