My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
/*
I am moving to Middleton, WI mid August and starting a new job at the beginning of September. Therefor, I'm mostly looking for someone to hang out with and explore the area with when I get up there.
*/

I'm an academic who is transitioning to industry so for the moment I have no idea whats going on but it's going to be fun finding out.

When I have free time I split it between giving my brain time off (i.e. watching netflix, or reading), feeding my news habit, enjoying the outdoors, or probably a half dozen other things some of which you can find hints of elsewhere in this profile.

When I'm outside I tend to bring my camera along to capture what I find interesting, or lovely. If you would like to see the pictures I've taken just ask I have them posted on deviant art. Though right now I have a big backlog of photos to edit and post which I'm going to try to fix once I get to my new apartment.

Lastly after being in Florida for 6 years I'm looking forward to having a real winter, though the fact my apartment has underground parking might play a small part in that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently teaching my last class for at least a long while, luckily it's the best class I've had, getting ready for the move to Wisconsin, and preparing for my new job. The most of the rest of my time is spent doing research or at least learning new things, going out out looking for good photographs to take, enjoying a book, movie, or game (board games and video games). Also I'm usually up to find something new that's fun or interesting to do.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Wandering, how else are you going to find places you haven't been?
Math, it's what my PhD is in and when your as deep into it as I am it's a pretty weird subject, hence fun.
Cooking, I'll admit to using cookbooks but only as a rough guide, heading off trail frequently yields tastier results.
Working with my hands, I like to make random things like the FSM pictured or one of the bookshelves I have.
Computers, I have a hobby of programming and building them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my glasses or my, at times, crazy hair, sadly I'm probably going to have to tame it now that I'm not going to be filling the roll of crazy math professor. After class the fact I'm covered in a fine white powder...

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Assuming the basics are provided...
Pencil, Paper, Computer, Internet, Books, something new to figure out or learn.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Moving (usually along the lines of ack I'm moving), what I need to do to prepare for my new job, how to make my cooking better, how to make round pizzas and why I can't.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Putting off grading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes use of a clue-by-four is needed for me to see the obvious.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you like conversations that wander like a drunken professor walks; randomly drifting between the ivory tower and the gutter.
Or if you're happy to set out without a plan and just see where random chance takes you.
Or if you have a question you want answered, though I won't guarantee a correct or even sensical response.
Or if your willing to drink the wine that I occasionally have left over from cooking.
Or if you'd like to look beyond this gossamer shadow cast by the expressible.
Or if you know which way the white rabbit with the pocket watch went (the bugger stole my watch).
Or if you have a mirror you can pass through or a blue police box.
