I'm creative, genuine, clever, honest, loyal, clumsy, compassionate, not complicated and not perfect, I'm a work in progress. I grew up in Illinois and moved to Denver on a lark and although I miss my family, never looked back. I'm not an overly outdoorsy person, that being said I still enjoy occasional hikes, camping trips and relaxing bike rides. I can ski and snowboard, but I rarely do either. I stay pretty fit, however I don't plan on running any marathons. I'm a morning person, I'm not chipper about it but I appreciate the quiet that accompanies mornings.

My political and social views tend to be pretty liberal. While I won't lay my jacket over a puddle I still believe in moderate chivalry. I'm silly and dorky most of the time, and I'm pretty geeky. My sense of humor is a pleasant balance of irreverence, absurdity, wit and sarcasm with a little cynicism. I appreciate intelligent conversations and debates about anything under the sun. Do I need to admit that I like fun? Doesn't everyone?

I have 2 dogs and a cat that are my current family, so anyone I meet has to be ok with them. I'm not looking for my other half, I don't need to be completed. I want a connection, I'm looking for someone who can challenge, excite and inspire me, my best friend, someone who isn't afraid to be themselves and I can be myself with. I think brains are sexy, nerds are cool, tomboys are cute and goofy is always good!

Aside from trying to live simple and simply live, I'm a professional woodworker & cabinetmaker designing and building kitchens and furniture. I used to paint but wood has become my medium of choice. I love making furniture and I consider myself fortunate to have a career that allows my creative side to flourish.

Books: The Illuminatus! Trilogy, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series, Dharma Bums, anything by Shel Silverstein, Vonnegut, or Kerouac ...(I think I need to read more)

Movies/ Shows: Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, BSG, MadMen, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny..., Firefly, Deadwood, Blazing Saddles, Dr. Strangelove..., American Werewolf in London, The Goonies, Stranger Than Fiction, North By Northwest, Princess Bride, Big Fish, Beetlejuice, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and The Holy Trilogy. I love Science Fiction but I don't watch horror flicks. The radio shows I like to listen to are This American Life, A Prairie Home Companion, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Radio Lab.

Music: I love music, and wouldn't want to be without it. I enjoy most music, but The Cure, Prince, Spoon, The Pixies, Silversun Pickups, Radiohead, Muse, Portishead, Queens of the Stone Age, Depeche Mode, The Redwalls, Arctic Monkeys, The Misfits, DeVotchka, the Xx, Black Crowes, Metric, Rolling Stones, The Smiths, and old Motown are a some of my favorites. Lately I've been listening to a lot of old jazz and big bands! I love those old crooners!

Food: I like or will try almost anything. I'm especially fond ice cream, Mexican, Indian, sushi and a good steak, oh and ice cream.

Did I remember to put pants on? No, seriously, when I leave the house I check to make sure I've put my pants on. I haven't forgotten yet.

I enjoy spending time out with friends having a pint, staying in and watching a movie, First Friday Art Walk, going for a bike ride or just pulling splinters from the week.

I like "Grease".... probably more than I should.
