My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'll be brief for now...or will I? I suddenly, or maybe not so suddenly, find myself looking for someone to share some time and, perhaps, my life with once more. So I'm feeling the waters...cold or inviting? Try to define me? Ask those who know me and they'll say I belong on stage...I love to make you laugh, or at least have you smile without you knowing it. Look at my career as a professional engineer and you might imagine a licensed geek...but I have no pocket protector and my calculator stays at my office. I don't fit any stereotypes that I know of and wouldn't want to anyway.

I am extroverted, focused, and a gentleman
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For years my life was focused on the "norm", those checklist items that many would consider to be standard operating procedure; family, career and advancement in whatever socio-economic levels can be created. All well and good. My job is just that...a job. Satisfying and rewarding, proud of what I do, but not how I define my life's successes. My children...the gift that they are to me...THAT is what I'm proud to be doing with my life right now. Their wellbeing is what I focus much of my attention on at this snapshot in time. But I've also realized that if I want them to be happy and understand how to live a satisfying life that I need to show them just what THAT is. I've decided to be a role model for them as well as myself.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Putting people at ease; either with laughter or listening.

Being comfortable with my decisions; I've decided that it's OK that I don't climb mountains or bungee jump. If you want, I'll tighten the straps on your harness and beam the biggest smile in the crowd when you return flushed with success.

Being a good Dad. Because even when I have to be "The Terminator", they still tell me I am one.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'll have to see if you'll be willing to fill me in on this one.

Love to read! Mostly fiction (I live non-fiction, haven't grasped the need for reading it); King, Brown, Donaldson, Card, Bradbury.

Enjoying a movie is a guilty pleasure...I'm at least now able to climb out of the Disney/Pixar ocean. Suspense, psychological thrillers, dramedies, fantasy. Just watched Pan's Labrynth, didn't understand a word but enthralled. I'll admit, I've been building the "man's lair" in the basement; home theater, oak bar, overstuffed recliners, etc.

Love music! I'm something of a musical gigalo; jazz, classic rock, current rock, pop, eclectic, metal...mood swings.

Love to eat! Love to COOK! I'm not saying I'm Wolgang Puck, but I enjoy it and am willing to delve into it. Italian, Chinese, Mediterranian and most certainly 'Merican. Grilling play with fire.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My kids. My family. My friends. My vehicle to get me to the next explore. My back deck; coffee in the morning, sun setting through the trees at night. Internet...sad but true...when that nagging question is burning you have to get answers.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Oh *@%#^$(! don't need to be burdened with that at this stage.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I haven't had a typical Friday night in typical gets boring after a while.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The hair at my temples is becoming "distinguished"

You want to is serious enough as it is. I won't embarass you by wearing a lampshade and I know when to turn it off. I'm no fool.

You're not looking for a Greek god...I'm not "cut, ripped or a hard body" but I don't waddle.

You smiled, big or small...or nodded your head in any part of this ramble.

You are looking for someone to treat you well. I was raised properly. I will open the door for you. I will help you with your coat. I will hold your chair. I will offer my arm when the road is slick. At some point I may lightly place my hand on the small of your back as you enter the room. I will walk beside you, not in front of you. If these things offend you, then you do not have an interest in me. Understand that chivalry and courtesy is not expensive to me.

I'd like to spend time with a woman who is confident with herself as she is, attractive inside as well as outside. I'd like her to be self-sufficient and decisive, but not mind being pampered occasionally. She doesn't want to be molded, changed, fixed or repaired; nor does she want to perform those tasks on me.

The clouds have left my skies and I've put down my umbrella...shall we?
