Abstract; A hardscrabble background punctuated with recklessness.
"I asked God for a bike but I know God doesn't work that way, so I
stole a bike and asked God for forgiveness"' Al Pacino. Pushed
beyond the limits of mental and physical ability to achieve a
gentle prosperity-high school friends are surprised. A quote in the
Washington Post from an April '13 article stated: "[He] doesn't
take no for an answer." In the Department of Summing it Up, that
says a lot about me. "We ain't no delinquents, we're misunderstood,
deep down inside us there is good." Jets @ "Officer Krupke."
An NPR interview on the subject of "Early Adapters" asked the
question: "How does a person who is amongst the first to own a
Chevy Volt, plug in when he lives on the top floor of a condo?" The
answer made up the interview. Old pals are surprised to see the
change since the days in the hallway outside the vice principal's
office. A promising career in the music industry cut short, so had
to scramble together an education starting at NYU. Known for "the
hair," which with a little help, flourishes and differentiates me
here inside the Beltway. I like being different and have a need to
be recognized for innovation and creativity. Soon to retire with a
fully funded 401K and a pretty good lust for life.
What I’m doing with my life
Wanting love, I'm here, humbly sharing forgiveness and
understanding. Good luck has been with me so far, I'm excited about
the future. My son's politically conservative..... He could have
instead just dyed his hair purple or gotten a tattoo. He graduated
recently from one of the finest colleges in the country,
Magna Cum Laude.
A psychotherapist and Certified Fitness Trainer, yoga and
meditation are part of my practice. Long distance biking is time
intensive and will keep me out of your hair in the morning and most
of the afternoon. Let me be clear, though, that 99% of all the
personal training I do is with the severe and persistent mentally
ill residents of a publicly funded County program, (the Post
article.). Oh, and I still play drums, for myself only, on an
electric kit on which I take lessons.
I’m really good at
Working with people, innovation, creativity, living an alternative
life style and making my dermatologist mad by hanging out on the
hottest beaches in the hemisphere.
The first things people usually notice about me
Much as I hate to say it, hair and blue eyes. You may quote this:
"As an Emmy Award winning hairstylist in the motion picture
industry, my opinion is: [childntimes']hair ROCKS!" -- Judy Crown,
2013. Judy helped me by taming the hair for the stage back in
Manhattan and we've remained friends ever since, this was her
response to a recent Facebook photo. Update: abandoning the image
of the west coast psychotherapist and ego that accompanies it, hair
was cut to experience life without the distraction. In ernest, the
true self search deepens.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Reading "Enders Game" OS Card, and listening to Somafm/Digitalis.
Also read the Washington Post and scan the New York Times. And what
I like in music is covered by Duke Ellington who said: "If it
sounds good, it is good". I eat organic and I'm an
environmentalist. (NPR interview). I like art and I'm out there in
it all the time and go to all the good stuff. I have tickets for
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds for July 2014. Recently Jeff Beck at
the Warner, yoga exhibit at the Sackler, that kinda stuff.
Song of the Day: "You Run", Robert Levon Been
The six things I could never do without
Loving kindness meditation
Les Miserables, a story of redemption
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I love my body, an amazing platform from which to launch my
consciousness. Practicing yoga at home with bouts of meditation in
between asanas and five level 2 and 3 classes a week. This is what
it's all about. I got high praise recently while lifting at the
gym. A guy asked me if I was a yoga Instructor or a dancer? I
thanked him profusely.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not a typical, but prefer Saturday nights that start early and end
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy that sustained him
through temporary periods of joy." - Yeats. And wishing I lived in
a world where everyone used their church voice.

you'd like to spend time in joint introspection, sitting in Easy
