My self-summary
I don't live in Gowanus. I made the profile awhile ago and I'm not going to pay to change the name. I still like the word.. gowanus. I live in Williamsburg and have heard all the prejudice about it, believe it if you want. It's alright, I like the southside and the JMZ.

I am a preservationist. I work mostly with oral histories from the labor movement or video art from New York downtown art scene from the 60s to the 90s and gay news, a lot of gay news. So I save the forgotten dreams of others. Perform as a storyteller occasionally all over the city. I'm also teaching myself the guitar, I am terrible but it's fun.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing and telling, I should do some more showing.
I’m really good at
Puzzles and I make good pesto. I am also a pretty understanding. Oh, and trivia. I'm really good at trivia. And scrabble, too good for some.
The first things people usually notice about me
My accent or my hair or that I am tall

The six things I could never do without
My cats
Clean and dry socks
Good times
Kitchen gadgets
Tasty treats
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- Time travel
- cheese (fontina is my favorite)
- my book, I'm 13,000 words. That's progress
- all the stuff I'll never know but would like to learn about
- the derivation and etymology of phrases
- the evil that lurks in the hearts of men
- the prefect date for a cinephilia, I can't tell because someone will steal it, but it's pretty awesome (and no, it's not dinner and a movie.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Cleaning my bathroom. Ladies like clean bathrooms, right?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I only read Ulysses to impress a girl. She never even noticed. Story of my life. One of my earliest memories is of my mother teaching me another language when I was a child (5ish), but now I pretend not to know it because I'm ashamed that I don't understand it as well as should.

I'm attracted to woman who can expand my horizons, who can show me a new world underneath or above or parallel to one I live in. Basically, I looking for a female version of Aladdin. I'm also enticed by polyglots. And friendly people of all sorts. I'm sad this site doesn't do penpals anymore.
