Aspiring cat mom and librarian. Writer for a feminist publication / day job partaker. Powell's Books wanderer. Also into show-going, dad-joke-making, getting shit done, and eating foods.
What I’m doing with my life
Deleting and undeleting tinder/okc, taking (film) pictures, traveling as much as possible, writing, d&d, applying to school, awkwardly attempting to flirt, sassing folks, making pinback buttons, decorating and redecorating my apartment, podcast binging, yoloing, and dreaming of summer camping trips.
I’m really good at
Stick n' pokes & trashy tv marathons on netflix. Being upfront. Making guacamole / cringing at how expensive it is and eating it all too quickly. Maintaining side hustles.
The first things people usually notice about me
My glasses +/or my mocha latte complexion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Reads: Bitch, rookie, Kat Blaque, bell hooks, Junot Diaz. Mostly nonfiction. Currently reading: Americanah & The Opposite of Loneliness.
Films: Anything Almodovar/John Waters, Clueless and teen flicks in general, Paris, Texas, documentaries, weird things at free movie nights in town, + more
Shows: too many cartoons as of recent (Rick + Morty, Adventure Time, Bob's Burgers, Bojack), and human shows like X-Files, Broad City, New Girl, and Twin Peaks
Music: 2much2list. but it ranges from Selena to The Smiths to Descendents to Fleetwood Mac to 2Pac to Leonard Cohen to MBV to The Spits to The Shirelles. Portland bands! Puerto Rican punk rock. 60s Cambodian psych. Stuff i don't know the name of. Stuff on XRAY.FM.
The six things I could never do without
good humans, music, sleep, food, words, and change.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Aliens, racism, sexism, all the isms, to-do lists, cleaning my room, when/where my next trip is, maintaining a healthy level of cynicism, why karaoke places never have Funnel of Love, who I can find to read my tarot next, and sprained ankles.
On a typical Friday night I am
Wishing it was my Friday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Someone once pointed out that I didn't laugh aloud when watching funny shows so I trained myself at the age of 15 to follow suit. I also cringe every time someone refers to the US as "America."
You should message me if
Yr a feminist who has feelings, is a human, and isn't a fuckin creep and/or bozo.
