My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm going to be bold here and say that I think I'm a pretty nice, intelligent guy. I like a few beers in a nice pub, a weekend at home doing nothing, an afternoon spent in an art gallery or a trip to the theatre. I also occasionally like a good gig, a festival and a great big thumping rave. I have amazing friends who I love dearly but they all seem to be in couples and it's becoming more difficult to meet other single people, hence my journey into the great unknown of internet dating.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just finished a sociology masters and trying to work out what I want to do with my life. I thought I wanted to be an academic but I think it might drive me mad. Any ideas are more than welcome.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Procrastinating, talking, laughing, worrying, writing essays, reading, worrying because I'm reading too much when I should be writing, listening, spending too much money
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably whatever t-shirt I'm wearing (I have a slight obsession with buying unusual t-shirts)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books - I read a lot, and I'm just getting back into reading good books after reading academic dirge for two years. Books I like: The Master and Margarita, Remains of the Day, Cloud Atlas, Middlesex, Where the Wild Things Are, The Corrections. Authors: Kazuo Ishiguro, Haruki Murakami, Don DeLillo, Raymond Carver, Angela Carter, JG Ballard. This is not an exhaustive list. I could go on for quite a while, but I don't want to seem too much of a nerd.

Films - arty foreign films are great, but I often find the best fun I have watching films is watching the big silly ones of my youth. I'm thinking the Goonies, Indiana Jones, Rocky 4 etc etc. Great films I've seen recently include Submarine and The Secret in their Eyes (Argentine oscar winner, really good). I loved the movie of Where the Wild Things Are too

Music - again, loads. Ranging from old scratchy folk and blues to electro, house and techno, taking in many stops along the way. A small selection of what is on my mp3 player right now - Woody Guthrie, Gil Scott Heron, James Blake, Nick Drake, Joy Division, Billie Holiday, The Clash, Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Radiohead, Portishead, Bon Iver, Laura Marling, Four Tet, Orbital, Caribou, house/disco/techno mixes, some old reggae, motown and rare lots of different things. Radio 6 is often my soundtrack

TV - If I believed in God, he would be not entirely unlike David Attenborough. The best reason to keep the licence fee (plus radios 4 and 6). I also love sitting around watching crap TV with mates and shouting at the morons! Oh, and Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire etc...

Food - love food and love cooking although I can get a bit stressed and make a god awful mess while I'm doing it
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My friends
Good food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
At the moment, what I should do with my life and what the bloody tories are doing to the country. Oh, and reminiscing about the amazing 3 and a bit months I have just spent in India and Nepal. I would quite like to be back on those mountains!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Having a few drinks in the pub. That could lead either to a spot of dinner with friends or a trip to a club that i will be regretting for the entire weekend!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
So far, I have not discovered a normal hat that is big enough for my head. Don't worry, I don't have a weird head or anything, just big.

You're interested in going out for a few drinks that may or may not lead to something. I'll be just as happy to meet a new friend as I would to meet a new girlfriend.
