I am charming, humorous, and intellectual.
My Self-Summary
I'm Alex. I live in Fitzroy and work in advertising. I'm a true
gentleman looking for just the right girl!
I am interested in a lot different things: society, finance,
politics, economics, history, media, advertising. But I don't take
life too seriously and I love hanging out with my friends drinking
wine or reading Vanity Fair for the pretty pictures and trashy
news.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a strategy consultant at an advertising agency. I have an
awesome job where I spend lots of time understanding how people are
using the new media to find new ways of expressing themselves,
connecting with each other, and doing business.
I make time for the things in life that are more important than
work. Outside of work I spend a lot of time reading, writing,
running, and hanging out with friends drinking wine.
I’m really good at
I think I'm good at writing, which is important as I spend a lot of
time writing for both work and for myself. My blog is an awesome
crazy mix of all different stuff that I find around the internet.
The first things people usually notice about me
It depends on what state they find me in. If I'm at work then they
probably notice that I am intense and confident. If I'm walking
down the street then they'll probably notice that I have crazy
hair. If I'm with my friends then they'll probably notice that I am
quiet and trying to figure out the situation.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: "Liar's Poker" by Michael Lewis, "The Western Canon" by
Harold Bloom, "Searching for Certainty" by John L Casti, "Disgrace"
by J.M. Coetzee, "Fear of Flying" by Erica Jong, "A Problem From
Hell" by Samantha Power, "Influence" by Robert Cialdini
Movies: Syriana, Michael Clayton, Rendition, Charlie Wilson's War,
Rendition, American Gangster, Atonement
Music: Santogold, MGMT, Keri Hilson, Mary J Blige, The Whitlams,
Elton John, Katy Perry, Lily Allen, Bat for Lashes
Food: French, Italian, Malaysian, Vietnamese... I'm happy with
pretty much anything in fact.
The six things I could never do without
1) my amazing friends
2) Tumblr
3) The West Wing
4) red wine
5) great food
6) my iPhone & Macbook
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Understanding the changes that are going on the business world
right now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out having dinner with friends somewhere in Fitzroy or curled up on
the couch at home watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have some REALLY embarrassing music in my iTunes. I love Missy
Higgins. I haven't read The Monthly for ages. I dream of packing
everything up and moving to Thailand to become a scuba diving
instructor. I spend way too much time on the internet. I think
people who read the Herald Sun shouldn't be allowed to vote. Wow,
that was much easier than I thought it would be!
