My self-summary
I am a self-proclaimed Hugernaught and I like to talk to random people (this means you!.. maybe.). What I don't like is pickles in my Happy Meal. Oh God help me if I find pickles! Oh yeah. Because whoever makes these questions has decied that there's no such thing as "grey area", I come across as someone I'm really not (especially that "more/less something than most" crap). You'd really have to talk to me to get a good idea of who I am, what my preferences are, and why I am the way I am.

Seriously though, I'm a fairly down-to-Earth, intelligent, sociable person, even though I play contrabassoon. (Hey- we can be sane, too... it just doesn't happen very often.) I like the outdoors (skiing and backpacking), sports (GO BEARS!), lab sciences and music. I graduated from UC Berkeley in '04 with degrees in "Music" (with a focus on bassoon performance and conducting) and "Molecular Cell Biology" (with a focus on immunology). I am an uber-dork. But a hilariously lovable one. (Does that even make sense?)

Also, those "outdoors" pictures were taken by my friend "Screamin". You should check out his profile. He's awesome.

I am a contrabassoonist, a festigio, and your mom
What I’m doing with my life
I'm the Beer Baron. But only by night. By day, I am a mild-mannered reporter for a major metropolitain newspaper.

No really. It's a lot funner if you DON'T know what I do for a living.
I’m really good at
Burping the entire alphabet in a quarter-second.
The first things people usually notice about me
Beats me. Maybe you should ask them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) Lehninger "Principles of Biochemistry" (yes, really), Mary Shelly "Frankenstein", Michael Chrichton "Jurassic Park" and "Sphere", Robert Louis Stevenson "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" b) The Shawshank Redemption, Amadeus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Goonies, True Lies, Lord of the Rings c) Shostakovich, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Prokofiev, Chaikovsky, Eminem, Jeff Hayman d) Mmmm... foood... e) how about TV? Simpsons, Family Guy (in case you couldn't tell), Scrubs, and Futurama.
The six things I could never do without
I'm assuming this list is in addition to food, water, shelter and vital organs. (This is also in no particular order of importance): Music, Personal Fitness (that includes hygiene... even on backpacking trips...), Movies, Family, Friends, Passion (that is, drive for some particular thing or aspect of life)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I have about 20 voices that are constantly going in my head (no, not the voices that tell me to rob 7-11... they're more like streams of consciousness). My boss thinks I have Tourette's and I'm just really good at controlling it. That being said, 20 voices cover quite a bit of things in "a lot of time". So it varies. Greatly.
On a typical Friday night I am
In Boston pretending I give a rat's ass about Vivaldi. No really though- It's such a crap shoot. I may be sitting at home on the computer, I may be sitting at home watching a movie, I may be sitting at home chilling with friends, I may be somewhere else chilling with friends, I may be engaging in random hooplah and tomfoolery. I'm usually eating, though.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One time during sex I called Lois "Frank." Your move, Sherlock.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–48
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends
You should message me if
You think you might enjoy talking to me. Or if you think I might enjoy talking to you. I wasn't all that informative in my profile, so if you want to actually get to know me at all, you should send me an IM. And I do recommend doing so. It could be fun. I just feel like AIM is a much better tool for getting to know someone than reading what they write about themselves on a website. Plus, I enjoy getting IMs from random people, as long as you're not creepy. I'm not creepy, either. Most of the time. AIM: Flying Emu Inc
