My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Okay, so I get it: you look at a profile and want to see some photos ... "SHOW ME THE STINKIN PHOTOS, DANGIT!" ...but after a bit of consideration, I've modified my photos so I am not easily identifiable to a casual viewer. I'm sorry - I know it might seem strange .... you could be thinking, "Hmmm... he doesn't want to show his full face. He must be married or attached .... or a fugitive!" Or, you might think that I am, in fact, quite hideous, and could never post my entire face for fear of inducing nervous hysteria from sensitive viewers.

Neither of these possibilities is the case. I am not married, nor am I attached in any way. Oh, and I could never be a very good fugitive - I look silly in fake mustaches.

No, the reason is simple: I have a job in which I have a fair amount of visibility to a wide range of people. And, while I am certainly allowed to pursue dating opportunities if I choose to do so, some of my responses to the questions here could have resulted in some unpleasant ripples in my working world.

And I love my job. Really, I do.

So I modified the pics, and left the responses so you can get an idea of my personality, traits, characteristics, etc. If you think we might match up well, personality-wise, drop me a note. I mean, why not? If we chat and there seems to be *something* there, I will be more than happy to load your email inbox with scads of photos with my smiling face.

Thanks for reading this far. Whew! What follows is the rest of the profile ("Wait, what?! There's MORE?!"):

Frightfully witty banter spoken here.

I think of myself as a really ~nice~ guy - loyal, dependable, helpful, well-meaning, sensitive, and occasionally really funny. Or not - you'll have to tell me about that last one. I typically try to do my very best at whatever I'm doing. I'm a dedicated father. A well-educated professional. An athlete. A dog owner and lover. A coffee drinker. A guy who sits here wondering why I'm spending such an extraordinary amount of time trying to choose the right words for an online dating profile, when I could be upstairs, asleep.

Hmm... this isn't so much a summary as much as a brief snapshot, I suppose. Well, hope it gives you the general flavor of things....
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm just trying to be my best at those things that make up most of my time: work, kids, working out...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people feel at ease; working with kids, dogs, and computers (they all seem to like me!); being somewhat amusing to those I'm with.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is not typically something people tell me. Do people say this to you? "Oh, I know we just met, but I can't help but tell you that your eyes are simply a-may-zing!" Hm. Maybe I don't run around with the right crowd.

So, I don't know. If we meet you can tell me what you noticed first. Thanks.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I watch a TON of movies (probably a few each week), and it would take me way too long to consider years of flicks to narrow it down to a few "favorites." Sorry!

Oh, ditto that for books. I'm reading (fiction, mostly) ALL the time, and have loved so many of them for different reasons.

Music? Nothing from recent artists, I'm afraid. Musically, I'm still stuck in the 90s! However, I like a broad variety - classical, jazz, movie scores, "grunge" (90s!), older rock, rockabilly, indie rock, just lots of stuff.

Food.... yes, definitely.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
1. My kids
2. Coffee
3. A decent internet connection (wow, that seems like a shallow thing to add to a list that also has my kids on it!)
4. Laughter
5. Fulfilling work
6. Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- How to craft an effective online profile for dating sites.
- My kids, and whether I'm doing enough for them.
- My work, and how I can do it better.
- Why it is that I never seem to get to all the things that need to be done.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably hanging out with my kids, laughing at a silly movie that we've already watched eight times already!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Just one thing? Geez, I've got an entire list! :-)

On second thought, this one will have to wait until we know each other a little better.

You read this profile, and you think to yourself:

Coffee? Check!
Kids? Check!
Dogs? Check!
Working out? Check!
Self-deprecating humor? Check!
Movies? Check!
A guy with only half a face? Check!

Or even, let's say, just four out of the seven things on this list. Heck, message me if you're simply curious. Or bored. Or hungry.
