Update! 4/24/13
Things have finally settled enough at work that my boss has openly said I can work remotely if I want to travel! Great news, just means I'll need to save up and find someone who might like a little international adventure. :)

I'm new to Dallas as of Fall 2012.

I grew up in Texas, moved away to New York for the military, worked on a reality TV show in Hawaii, spent some time with relatives in Japan, and made my way back to Texas to finish college and begin my career.

Life stories are a favorite thing of mine and I'd love to hear yours!

MUST READ:
I'm simple. I don't need nor do I like to go out every night of the week. I find a lot of pleasure in getting food I've been craving on a Friday after work and lining up a weekend of nothing but playing games, watching Netflix, and generally being a homebody. If the weather is nice, maybe we could explore the town or just take a walk. If you need more than each other's company and some simple pleasures to feel fulfilled and happy, I'm not your guy. The focus here is that I'm all about simple pleasures, so hopefully this doesn't come across as too abrasive. :)

Mostly working as a systems administrator, but there's a big part of me that's interested in much more than the rat races.

I haven't been able to travel lately, but that's going to change as soon as my job settles down a bit. I love what I do, but friends, family, and (eventually) love take priority in my life - that brings me here.

Cooking... well, I love to cook. You can be the judge.

Figuring out how to fix stuff of any kind... I love problem solving.

I'm currently looking for new ways to express myself and develop talent, again... I miss music performance and have a hunger to do something more active.

I'm an avid gamer, but I do not spend uncontrollable amounts of time with that hobby.

Update: 3/27/13
A screw from the frame of my glasses fell out into the bed of my living room carpet. Not able to see well or grasp the screw, I used a speaker magnet. Then, I used a culinary torch and butter knife handle to drop forge a paperclip into a tiny screwdriver. McGyver level? Over 9000.

Anything post-apocalyptic!
Well, book/movie/show-wise... post-apocalyptic food is something I might not enjoy.

I'm a musician deep down (trumpet, piano, guitar), but I don't practice performance anymore. I indulge in music of all genres most of my waking hours to make up for that hole in my life. I brought my 88-key to Dallas, but left the rest of my instruments in San Antonio.

Food of all kinds is a passion, especially with friends and family - company makes all the difference. You'd be hard-pressed to keep me away from a good get together that involved delicious food and even better drinks.

I'm going to go with "things" being anything:
1) Music - For motivation, expression, and common ground.
2) Love - I'm a sap; not going to try and deny it.
3) Compassion - The world can be a pretty terrible place.
4) Sincerity - How many people in your life really mean what they say?
5) Technology - It's my livelihood!
6) Dessert - Anything deliciously sweet; major sweet tooth here.

I've spent a lot of time building a stable career with the potential for a good future attached, but I'm passionate about truly living with the time I'm given.

I spend a lot of time thinking about how to make my life something much more than the above.

I like to try new places to eat or watching that new release with friends on Friday and Saturday evenings.

I'm pretty well-accustomed to having a relaxing night in, as well. Those are always good and welcome.

I sing. A lot. In the car, in the shower, and everywhere else I don't *think* people can actually hear me.
