I'm an artist and a freelance graphic designer. I'm edging my way into publishing because I'm nerdy and bookish and the gravity of books as a tangible object makes a place feel more like home. I've got nothing against the internet though. I make some ebooks and websites too.
my favorite thing to do is invent art installations as an excuse to talk to strangers and turn those conversations into part of the installation. think low tech time lapse. I do this because I believe most people have a very intelligent grasp on the world around them, and exposing that truth counters the media narrative that there's some large portion of idiots out there that need to be reigned in. most people don't need to be reigned in. most people need to be heard.
books: anything by jeanette winterson or paul auster. theory books of all kinds that stretch your mind and make your head hurt a bit. love it. key titles: Lighthousekeeping, The Martian Chronicals, Third Class Super Hero, How To Live Safely In A Sci-Fi Universe, Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal, Reena Spaulings, Anti-Oedipus, You Shall Know Our Velocity, Critique of Creativity...
movies: adaptation. burnt by the sun. baraka. naked lunch (the movie). inception. white nights. i heart huckabees. back to the future. the cradle will rock.
food: all of it... that is vegetarian.
on the flip, it is not unusual to find me in the middle of a mosh pit or dance party. I come out of my shell sometimes. generally this still happens on a weekday.
