I am smart, quirky, and optimistic.
My Self-Summary
I'm silly... and grateful... and fairly generous... and sometimes
bossy... and deeply moved, often by things that others overlook...
and optimistic... and occasionally witty... and I like ellipses!
Can you tell?
What I’m doing with my life
I take each day one moment at a time. I love life... the ups and
the downs, the moments by myself and the times when I'm surrounded
by community.
I'm an early childhood teacher - I spend my days with nine
brilliant babies, watching their minds unfold, getting covered with
finger paint, and crawling around on the floor being silly.
I love to get crafty... mostly paper and collage art.
I love music, so I try to catch great up-and-coming artists at
local venues whenever possible.
During the dry season, I love to be outdoors... hiking, camping,
and kayaking when I can get my hands on a boat. My dog Abby is a
great little tag-along on these outdoor adventures.
I've volunteered quite a bit in my life, for organizations like a
bird rescue and sanctuary, a "living museum," an after-school
reading program, and a yoga and meditation center. Right now I'm in
search of my next chance to make a difference...
I’m really good at
Finding joy in the little things... crossword puzzles... thinking
big thoughts... seeing other people's perspectives... jigsaw
puzzles... coordinating potlucks and other fun get-togethers...
appreciating other cultures... Total Annihilation (I will cream you
at this game!)... moving on from life's minor upsets... Scrabble...
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a great smile and my eyes sparkle... no really, they do!

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life... the future... the things I'm grateful for... the "bigger
picture"
On a typical Friday night I am
Oh, who knows... I try not to let my life get this predictable.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I once chose to go over six weeks without talking to anyone. It was
an amazing experience - you learn a lot about yourself when you
have nobody else to talk to!
You should message me if
- You know where the quote "I do doodle. You too. You do doodle
too." is from... and don't just Google it, ya big slacker! You
either know it or you don't... and if you do, big brownie
points.
- You're a straight guy who's looking for something other than a
one-night stand or poly relationship... They're fine for some
people, but I'm not into those things these days.
- You like a girl who thinks for herself and finds better things to
do with her time than polish her toenails or debate the merits of
various brands of eyeliner.
- Oh, what the heck... if you've made it this far, you should
probably message me, eh? :)
