I came to D.C. to work on health policy, specifically on issues related to Medicaid and the uninsured. I care deeply about health reform, and believe everyone has the right to adequate, affordable health care.
I'm a huge fan of lunch runs around the National Mall, and try to get out as often as I can. I play tennis, albeit not very well, but I am always looking for new partners- especially if you're looking for someone to boost your tennis ego! I bike all over the city and consider it the very best way to get around- hands down. I love yoga, and practice regularly, and have to say, am getting a lot better at it! My goal is to be able to do a headstand, and I'm starting to get there... I love the pool, and sunshine in general. I miss the beach, and love kayaking or biking the Capitol Crescent trail, or running around Haines Point, just to be out by the water.
I'm an excellent baker (so say my friends) and I’m learning to cook, thanks to my good friend, a certified chef and foodie who knows how to make a gourmet meal out of anything I happen to have left over in the fridge. I really like cooking for others, and have fun messing around in the kitchen with new recipes when I have the time. I have a community garden plot, and am pretty pumped about what I have growing this season... all sorts of delicious veggies and herbs!
I absolutely love live music, and have seen some excellent shows since moving to D.C.- anything from Benny Bennassi to Justice to Matisyahu to the National Symphony Orchestra. My roommate is in a band, and plays live cover band kareoke shows in the area, which are also really a lot of fun! If its good music, I'm all for it.
Overall, I’m an open-minded, drama-free girl who loves meeting new people and taking advantage of all DC has to offer.
