I came to D.C. to work on health policy, specifically on issues related to Medicaid and the uninsured. I care deeply about health reform, and believe everyone has the right to adequate, affordable health care.
I try to volunteer fairly regularly, and just signed up for more permanent gigs with the Washington Humane Society (walking puppies!!) and with a local educational nonprofit (tutoring math to kids), both of which I am really looking forward to.
I'm a huge fan of lunch runs around the National Mall, and try to get out as often as I can. I play tennis, albeit not very well, but I am always looking for new partners- especially if you're looking for someone to boost your tennis ego! I bike all over the city and consider it the very best way to get around. I love yoga, although I am defiantly not a die-hard yogi and can’t do a headstand or anything super-fancy (yet).
I'm also an excellent baker (so say my friends) and I’m learning to cook, thanks to my good friend, a certified chef and foodie who knows how to make a gourmet meal out of anything I happen to have left over in the fridge. I really like cooking for others, and have fun messing around in the kitchen with new recipes when I have the time.
I absolutely love live music, and have seen some excellent shows since moving to D.C.- anything from Benny Bennassi to the Killers to Matisyahu to the National Symphony Orchestra. If its good music, I'm all for it.
Overall, I’m an open-minded, drama-free girl who loves meeting new people and taking advantage of all DC has to offer.
