My self-summary
people are always telling me they're surprised that i like the kinda music & movies i do... mostly hard alternative and horror i luv animals, especially dogs & am a true dog person not only bcuz it's my chinese zodiac but bcuz i'm as loyal as they come, but, you have to earn that loyalty.

i'm usually pretty quiet until i feel comfy around a person, but once i do i can talk your ear off. i am very honest & expect the same from others. i look more innocent, or should I say "straight-laced" than i am. my friends say i'm weird (of course, not michael jackson {RIP} weird). i say i'm just quirky. i AM shy so it's hard to meet people. i get along with everyone & i'm a great friend. i'm good girl who's extremely laid back & easy going.i DO like to have fun but i'm NOT a party girl.

i'm a media-phile. love music, tv, movies, and playing on the computer. love to dance, and sing and cherish all things arts related. also love to cook (been doing it since i was 4). i'm REALLY interested in pretty baby-faced boys (although, i have also been known to go for the geeky/weirdos as well) but i usually just admire them from afar because i'm shy when it comes to meeting guys... and my best friend says i'm a freak because i'm "the ONLY woman in the world who likes short guys".

I am cute, idealistic, and laid-back

What I’m doing with my life
i recently started working as a 2nd grade (now 4th grade) reading tutor at an elementary school. i've been trying to find a full time teaching job for the last couple years with no luck. most of my interviews have all ended with them saying that they basically love me but want someone with experience. i guess 4 years as a substitute teacher, teaching assistant, and tutor doesn't count. i'm not making a lot of money. but hopefully it'll be worth it in the long run.

UPDATE: well, i've been trying for 5 years now and can't get anyone to hire me as a teacher. i think i'm done. i love kids and know i'm a great teacher, but this is ridiculous. so...i've pretty much decided to give it up and start working on getting my I.T. certifications jand just work with computers. i spend all my free time doing it anyway, so why not get paid for it, right?

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I listen to LITERALLY anything and EVERYTHING, except country and gangsta (c)rap. here are just SOME of the many bands currently on my laptop and in my various cd and mp3 players: Disturbed, Skinny Puppy, Eminem, Sublime, Calle 13, Dead Milkmen, System of a Down, old-school Metallica, Nine In Nails, Ministry, Faith No More, Peeping Tom, Bauhaus, Fiona Apple, Blues Traveler, Jon Spencer/Blues Explosion, Black Eyed Peas, Ben Folds/Five, Gorillaz, Beastie Boys, Radiohead, Alice In Chains, Portishead...that's only SOME of them...i could go on for days.

as far as movies: natural born killers, pulp fiction, dazed & confused, reservoir dogs, a clockwork orange, anything with bob fosse's choreography, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, the shining, kill bill, warriors, true romance, momento, powder, sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Harvey, the jerk, paper moon, the little girl who lives down the lane, american history x, battle royale, any kung-fu movie (esp. bruce lee or jackie chan), anything by john woo, or takashi miike, visitor q, audition, scarface, ichi the killer, kung fu hustle, harry potter (all of them), star wars (all of them), the lord of the rings (all of them), happiness of the katakuris, waking life, the matrix (all of them), identity, v for vendetta, stay, black like me, running scared, bugsy malone, el topo, santa sangre... i LOVE horror movies (scary not cheesy) but i haven't seen a really good one (that stuck with me)in a long time...
i could go on for days here, too.

TV: anything on adult swim (especially harvey birdman attorney at law, moral orel, metalocalypse, shin chan, frisky dingo, robot chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the boondocks, cowboy bebop, sealab 2021, the venture bros., lucy, daughter of the devil, and fullmetal alchemist), the simpsons, south park, scrubs, masters of horror (even tho' they're usually really cheesy), american idol, monk, penn & teller bullsh!t, real time w/bill maher, weeds, entourage, the wire, nip/tuck, dirt, the dead zone, psych, the 4400, medium, desperate housewives, lost, prison break, the shield, rescue me, so you think you can dance, csi (all of them), ghost hunters, dexter, my name is earl, kyle xy, flight of the concords, big love, john from cincinnati, meadowlands, supernatural, smallville, jeopardy, british comedy (red dwarf, monty python, ab-fab, are you being served, young ones, monkey dust, fawlty towers, hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, benny hill)

Books: anne rice (the vampire chronicles, etc), stephen king, kurt vonnegut, shakespeare, Franz Kafka, the outsiders (one of my all-time favorite books), harry potter... i used to be an avid reader but since i've gotten into computers i've kinda given up reading. it's been years since i've read a book (at least, all the way through) that wasn't for school. i have several books that i've started but have yet to finish... so i can't think of any of my other faves at the moment. LOL

Food: cuban, mexican, italian... anything with tons of cheese (i LOVE cheese!)

you are someone who is honest, non-judgmental, laid back and easy going, into heavy/alternative music, horror and action movies and genuinely kind to all people but likes to engage in friendly philosophical or political debates. i'd like you to be compassionate and different. i don't like loud obnoxious guys but you gotta have a little edge. no players, jocks, or perverts. i like sensitive guys and i want someone who thinks of more than just himself.
