My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Rather than talk about me, I'll talk about you. Talking about me sounds so narcissistic anyway. I'm an ENTP if anyone cares.

You've been through some things, and you came out smiling. You're looking for someone who makes things more fun instead of sucks the fun out of them by being overly demanding or self centered. You like holding hands and being close. You enjoy good beer, wine and food, not swill and taco bell. You think Coke tastes funny without a little rum in it. Your default answer to an adventure is, "Sure, why not." You like the idea of a Netflix night with a random movie that may even completely suck but turns into a chance to laugh. You can completely geek out on something (no matter what that something is). You don't take yourself too seriously, and you know that if a statement can be taken two ways, it was probably the nice or flattering way that was intended. You read or have read books. You like intellectual conversations. You like to learn new things, and teach your significant other things you know. You're tired of giving and other people taking. You desire peace with passion. You can go on a 5 - 20 mile hike and not mind being sweaty at the end of it. You're a wonderful kisser. You have deep eyes that scream to be gazed into. You accept your flaws as your defining characteristics. Your opinions, while well researched, are mutable on better evidence. You're comfortable in your own skin. In short you're amazing.

I really don't take much of life seriously, because I've seen the good, the bad and the intolerable in it. When I fall in love, I fall hard. Despite the negatives associated with that, I am an eternal optimist in the love arena. I just know that somewhere out there is a woman who is the same brand of weird as me (by the way, we're all a little weird).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a job and go to it sometimes. I have an insatiable wanderlust, though. I'm also looking for a meaningful relationship, instead of a three week fling. I learn, I make beer / wine / mead / cider / saki and anything else someone suggests I should try.

What I'm not doing: sending pictures of my junk... ever... (when did that become a thing?). I'm also not asking you to send pictures of your lady bits. I can't imagine how that goes over in a civilized society.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Pool, passionate kisses, slow jogs, and keeping the mood light. If you want to know what else I'm good at, you'll have to take a chance and get to know me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't look old enough, and that I'm completely different from what they expected.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'm a classic novel kind of guy, and my literary tastes lean toward the dystopian (Brave New World, 1984, Harrison Bergeron, The Road, etc.). I'll read anything, and I truly wish I had more time to do it.

TV is not something I do much of, but my favorite shows are things like Always Sunny, Arrested Development, Firefly, Walking Dead and things with either incredibly talented writers or zombies. I think Joss Whedon is a genius, and I really dig educational television. Again, I have to specifically make time for it, so it's not really high on the list.

Movies, I lean comedy, then horror, then action, then drama. I really like independent films and movies written for specific audiences. I have never seen a movie starring Bruce Campbell I didn't love, and the worse the movie, the more likely I am to have seen it. Not big on chick flicks, but I do watch them when required.

Musically I'm pretty eclectic. I love some punk, and old country, folk, traditional, bluegrass, Irish... but I'm also into classic rock, chick music, classical, certain metal, even some hip-hop. I generally can't stand top 40 though. I've been listening to Honey Honey, Andrew Bird, Gogol Bordello, Mumford & Sons, Tom Waits, Neutral Milk Hotel, System of a Down, The Avett Brothers and Johnny Cash a lot lately, but who knows what next week will hold.

My food is usually spicy, and by spicy I mean cripplingly, butt-puckeringly spicy. I therefore love Thai, Mexican, Indian, Chinese and anything I can drip ghost pepper hot sauce onto. I love sushi and lean toward seafood. I could live on a sailboat trolling for tuna and Mahi constantly, provided I had rosemary and black pepper on hand.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Air, water, food, shelter, kissing and Led Zeppelin.

One can live without nearly anything if the option to have it is not present and the will to live still is.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I often wonder how the thoughts in my head come to be. I think a lot about damned near everything. If you were to ask me this question, I'd tell you exactly what was clanging around in there. It's usually something ridiculous, though. Feel free to laugh at the nonsense of it when you ask.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm far more likely to be out than in, but I like both. I would be as happy playing Cards Against Humanity with friends as seeing a band or watching a movie. It's about variety.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm secretly in love with Christina Hendricks, but specifically her Yolanda / Saffron / Bridget character from Firefly. I also like to argue with theists on the internet. No good can come of it, but I do it anyway.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you like to have deep conversations about the nature of the universe over a beverage, if you enjoy having someone read to you as you fall asleep, if you are tired of boring people who exhaust all of their cool stories in the first few dates, if you can at least somewhat spell, you're not afraid to take a chance, etc.
