My Self-Summary
I still love juice boxes.
I'd like backup dancers to follow me down the street. Or maybe a small old man with a violin.
I finally understand Eddie Izzard's joke about James Mason. That man can do anything.
I spent my whole childhood watching black and white movies. (Mad Men feels very natural for me, in some ways.) I would like to wear a fedora and trench coat like Humphrey Bogart, but still be able to play kickball, or ride an abandoned stroller downhill in the rain.
I have trouble reconciling the serious part of me with my whimsical, funny-face nature, and, hence, we have a profile named after a T. S. Eliot poem.
I want to have fun. Perhaps with you.

What I’m doing with my life
I just finished an MFA degree in Creative Writing and I'm still thinking about ways to support my writing. Somehow I'm an Adjunct Professor, right now. Tomorrow I might be an cosmonaut.

The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Being one of those 'book-readers,' there's probably too many to list here. That being said, here's a short list of 300,000. T.S. Eliot's Selected Poems, Denis Johnson's Incognito Lounge, Mark Strand's Reason's For Moving, Dubliners by James Joyce, and any of the plays written by Neil Simon, Christopher Durang, and Tennessee Williams.
Movies
I'm a big fan of the 1940's to the end of the '70's, so let's say anything by Orson Wells, old-school film noir, and some fan-favorites like Dirty Harry.
And Airplane has been a tremendous influence on my life.
Music
I'm a humongous Bob Dylan fan. And I have a thing for Sam Cooke and other classic soul artists.
Food
Just about everything that is bad for you. Cheese fries. Sandwiches. Chinese food is the tops. I could eat it for the rest of my life and never tire of it.
