my corresponding base pair? my missing puzzle piece?
I want to have fun! I'm tired of being the single one of my friends, and I want someone to enjoy spending time with, and all that comes with that. I may not be thin, but I'm pretty freakin awesome :D I'm a bit of a nerd and a little socially awkward, buuut I'm a scientist, therefore it should be a bit expected... so hopefully you can roll with it. I've also always been into sports and working out. I'm very independent as far as life stuff goes (bought my own car and house), I love my job, and I'm quite social, I'm just really tired of being lonely and the only single person out with my friends. I'm looking for an adult relationship with possible future, aka, I'd love a best friend with benefits and emotions, or in other words a boyfriend, but it doesn't have to start out so committed as that usually sounds. I'm not interested in committing myself to the wrong guy. Getting too old to waste time that way. Be honest, and candid, (that doesn't mean be an ***hole) and I will do the same.
I want someone who is thin and healthy, can play like a kid with me, likes the occasional spontaneous road trip to the ocean or a hike or even just to listen to music and look at scenery. Enjoying video games and anime isn't a requirement, but be willing to occasionally watch one of my movies, and I do like to have the occasional veg day playing final fantasy or elder scrolls for hours in my pjs, I only get those like once a month maybe. I also like watching guys play games, curled up next to them on the couch, so of course I prefer you're into them, buuuut like I said, not necessary.
I believe in constantly working to improve myself, and I prefer people who are of the same mindset. Downers need not apply. Everyone gets a little down sometimes, but I try to keep a positive attitude and keep moving forward, constantly trying to improve someones mood and outlook on life is exceptionally draining. I've done it, and I'm not looking to do it again.
420 friendly though it's rare that I use.
long term career goal: I want to be a tenured professor teaching university level genetics and biology, while still dabbling in a bit of research, maybe one grad student, one undergrad. Sounds like a fantastic situation. But in the meantime, I'm trying to mess with a lot of things to figure out how to get there and what exactly I want while still keeping in mind current and short term life stuff. It's a little complicated, feel free to ask me about it : )
Movies- action movies, vampire movies, ninja movies, good stuff like that. I cant stand awkward situational comedies (like the office is a good example) and love stories can be lame and depressing (one of the few girls you'll meet who HASNT seen the notebook or dirty dancing...) oh, and my favorite romantic movie (because I always forget it when asked but I'm ecstatic when it comes on TV) is practical magic.
shows- Bones, Castle, how i met your mother, true blood, the mentalist, Rizzoli and Isles. I'll watch csi, criminal minds, and NCIS marathons all the time though whenever they're on if there's nothing better to do. Overall not a big tv watcher though, can't sit still that long.
Music- anything with a good beat that makes me feel good. I love alternative and edm, but really I like just about everything but instrumental jazz and screamo - I think music shouldn't be depressing, rather it should make you feel good and want to get up and dance. I get a lot of strange looks for dancing/head bobbing/singing along in my car but I don't care, I love it ; )
Food- I have a love hate relationship with food for sure. I love good food, I'm a vegetable fiend, like give me a huge bowl of steamed broccoli and carrots and a little butter and garlic and i am happy, but I also love pastas and rice which hates me in return : ) My family is very into big fun family dinners and most of us love to cook and experiment, so eating with us is often a yummy adventure! Especially as we all have different eating styles- I'm on a high protein low glycemic diet and my brother and SIL eat almost completely organic vegetarian. It always makes for interesting conversation and good food.
oh, and i'm a bit self conscious of my overuse of emoticons! but i hate the lack of inflection/emotion that words typed on a screen are left with...
If you are interested, send me a hello! But please don't message me if: you have a criminal record, you have terrible credit, you haven't had a job in a while, or you're just looking for a good time short term. Otherwise, I'd love to chat and see if there's anything there.
