It's better to have an open-relationship...?

In response to It's
better to have an open-relationship...? :
please don't think that just because you are in an "open relationship", that it is not possible to "cheat" on your partner. doing anything outside the boundrys of your agreement with your partner would be considered cheating.

In response to It's better to have an open-relationship...? by bunpoh:
It's better to have an open-relationship because there'll be cheating in monogamous relationships anyways. These questions. I was hoping for better, somehow. I don't think any kind of relationship is inherently better than another. This goes for open, monogamous, married, living together, polygamous, triads, any combination you can think of that doesn't involve outright exploitation. I know that open relationships are right for me. They are definitely wrong for many, if not most people. And who could rightfully suggest that monogamy will inevitably result in cheating in all circumstances? There must be at least some sexually faithful people out there. I'd be interested in finding out real statistics on monogamy and cheating. I'm totally fascinated by sociobiology, and human sexuality. I could be persuaded that most monogamous relationships involve cheating. But I still think monogamy is probably right for many, if not most people, because of their emotional capabilities and core beliefs, as well as their socialization. Thankfully, my partner and I are not those people, and we have successfully enjoyed an open relationship for over a decade.

Hmmmmm, I noticed that there are a number of pictures in profiles of men with cats . . . I'm trying to decide if I find that appealing or distubing. Interesting.
