I’m an enthusiastic traveler, and would like to have a fellow adventurer. We live in an area that offers rich and diverse artistic and cultural opportunities. I can and do visit museums and the symphony and go to lectures by myself, but it’s much more fun to go with someone so you can share your thoughts and reactions afterwards. Could we go to the movies and then sit over drinks or dinner and talk about it all? Could we go to the gym together; or biking or hiking or kayaking? (Not that I know how to do that last, but I want to try it.)
I want to be in an intimate, living-together relationship with someone who can be my best friend, with an ample allowance for personal “me” time in the mix. Those things don’t happen instantaneously, but it’d be great to meet in person to see if there’s any chemistry. If there is, we could start exploring the possibilities.
Books: The Tipping Point, Primal Leadership, Blink, just about any mountaineering book, memoirs, and character-driven fiction. Latest reads are The Emperor of All Maladies, behind the beautiful forevers, The Paris Wife, Unbroken, and The Art of Racing in the Rain. I LOVE reading.
Music: Very eclectic tastes. I grew up with classical and still love it, and the old 40's and 50's songs are great fun. I like jazz, rock, and reggae. And anything you can dance to: latin, ballroom, swing.
Food: Oh yes!. Yes! Yes! I’m a pretty good cook, and I’d love to be your partner in the kitchen. I'm always interested in what wines would pair well with a dish, and I like the creative aspect of putting together a menu with different colors, textures, and tastes that all complement each other.
Being in Nature
Being with the people I love

What it would be like to live in another country for a year, and if I'll ever do the work to be able to speak fluent French (or German).
