My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Let me get this one out of the way: if you want to teach me how to dance (Latin, swing, hip-hop, whatever), message me right now. I'm a natural on my feet, but you could say that when I hit the floor I'm all street smarts and no book learnin'. On with the show…

Born and raised in Missouri, child prodigy, Stanford dropout, hopeless romantic and hard-bitten realist, agnostic moralist, determined intellectual, natural dancer, wannabe poet, techie by trade, slick, quick, sensitive, witty, earnest, magnetic, dry, ebullient, eclectic, conflicted, moody but well-meaning, and sometimes kinda spacey.

I was single for way too long, and am finally starting to break out of that. Right now I mostly want to see the world and have some fun.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm about to start work for a social media startup. New job, kinda nervous! It'll be okay though. It should be a good fit, because I spend way too much time on the Internet, mostly talking to friends and reading random articles. Tech, econ, politics, history, linguistics, cognitive science, you name it.

I used to work for a different startup which is a major force for social justice. That was pretty cool. But as much as I believed in the mission, it wasn't the best fit for my technical abilities for a lot of reasons I could go into. I'm gonna see if I can satisfy my do-gooder urges by doing some pro bono work for other projects on the side.

Other than that, I'm trying to get into better shape and spend more time outside. It's kinda my me project right now. Don't get me wrong, my health is pretty good, but I'd like to aim higher: I don't feel like I've ever been a specimen of robust vigor. If you wanna be hiking/biking/surfing/whatever buddies that'd be just peachy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Offering constructive criticism, writing, smoothing things over, seeing every perspective, ruminating, psychoanalyzing, dry wit, awful puns, cleaning things, fixing things, patching things up with people I've offended, satire and sarcasm, driving, talking, and walking too fast, taking naps, being loud, being quiet, getting things done.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People tell me I have this energy. It's a little tough to describe. People will sometimes just start to get really amused at life, or their eyes will go a little wide. I'll have to think about this one.

Truth be told, I am pitifully read and … music'd … compared to a lot of the people I see on this site. If you can turn me onto new works of art and the mind, I will forever think of you fondly.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Once upon a time, it was big stuff like the ultimate fate of the universe, the machine apocalypse, the mind/body problem, radical skepticism, the possibility of God, and basically anything else heavy and philosophical. Then for awhile it was more introspective – why I feel the way I do, what patterns can be deduced from that, and what to do about them. Now it's mostly work, politics, and my friends.
