Studied civil rights, women's studies, 20th century American history. I am pretty much a bleeding heart liberal feminist or suffering from a terrible case of white male guilt, depending on how you want to view it. Both are pretty valid.

I feel like everyone talks about how contradictory they are on this site, so I am just gonna take that approach.

Can be caught at the local coffee shops reading Bell Hooks, Robin Kelley, or Studs Terkel (kind of my hero), but often times will be reading Thrasher or Fangoria magazines.

I'm into Czech New Wave and Italian Neo-realism, but spend most nights eating pizza in bed watching John Waters stuff.

I'm into women's reproductive rights and thinking about the issues of race/class/gender in America, but really like college football.

I check a bunch of skateboarding websites first thing in the morning...with NPR playing in the background.

I dropped out of a PhD program to wait tables.

I recently had a revelation where I figured out I liked New Order WAY more then Joy Division.

Food- I know enough to banter about kombucha, TVP, and the other sorta new age foods, but to be honest I mostly just eat pizza, tacos, and candy.

Films- Welles, Tarkovsky, Allen, Fellini, Bergman, Waters, Love me some Wes Craven, Abel Ferrara, Argento, Vincent Price, Truffaut, Bunuel, Jodorowsky, Women in Prison films, Rape Revenge films, Stuart Gordon, John Carpenter, PTA, Kieslowski.

I usually try to see a movie at least once a week. It is totally my favorite thing to do.
