My self-summary
I'm a north-eastern transplant who has finally acclimated to the West Coast. It has been a pretty smooth transition.

in a medium-distance open relationship with the lovely and talented Astra_Mintaka. I'm not looking for anything serious, but I'm open to anything.
What I’m doing with my life
in my previous life (jokes), I used to work as an audio engineer but I went back to school. I've completed the recording for my first album; it should be out this year.

I'm a full-time student at UC Davis studying Philosophy with a minor in Political Science. I'm pursuing Law, Labor in particular.
I’m really good at
making connections. things that seem obvious to others may not strike me immediately, but what is obtuse to others often offers itself to me.

also: rapping. seriously. also, I'm a good producer, an aspiring composer, a decent singer, a somewhat decent pianist, and a dabbling bassist. <3 music.
The first things people usually notice about me
MY TITS
my body is queer
and kinda chubby

or: my hair, eyes, smile
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm sort of a vernacular intellectual transitioning into a regular intellectual. I like reading political theory, science fiction, philosophy, history, biography, economics and every so often some music books will get mixed up in there.

(totally not updated regularly) "recent" books:
The Demon-Haunted World - Carl Sagan
On Human Nature - Noam Chomsky & Michel Foucault
Terrorism and Communism - Leon Trotsky
Mutual Aid - Peter Kropotkin
The Histories - Herodotus

I used to be pretty into music videos, now I mostly watch documentaries, dark comedies and satire. I'd rather listen to news podcasts most of the time than watch something, though. I do make exceptions for sketch comedy and improv-based comedy. Louie, Always Sunny, Arrested Development, Monty Python...some...other ones I can't think of right now. And ah yes, Carl Sagan's Cosmos.

As for music, my latest love is 20th century classical and 21st century classical, especially minimalism/post-minimalism. I also enjoy experimental music of all stripes, and I love both alternative and conventional forms of hip hop. I also like punk rock and post-punk, free jazz, ambient techno, classic metal, bebop and the more-tasteful varieties of progressive rock.

"recent" music:
Future Sound of London – Lifeforms
John Adams – Harmonium
the Warp20 series
El-P – Cancer 4 Cure

Oh, right. I'm a vegan; I like vegan food. I'm getting better at making it too!
The six things I could never do without
I am also too cool for this question
I spend a lot of time thinking about
things I cannot control. politics, the distribution of wealth, how power structures in everyday life model the larger picture. Popular struggle, the limits of reform, the gulf between the society that could be and the options currently available.

The absolute vastness of the universe and just how small I am, how small we all are. How science has led us to so many great discoveries and technological advancement, yet we ignore everything it has to say about the human condition.

I also spend time thinking about writing and music when I have more mercy for my ego.
On a typical Friday night I am
recoiling from a week filled with masochistic scholasticism and self-important student activism. probably getting high and making a beat, or writing something, or playing games, or reading/watching political things on the internets.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
to be real with you: I'm here for something low-maintenance.
