My self-summary
Born and raised in the corniest parts of Ohio but migrated to Chicago for undergrad. Now I'm stuck here for some time, loving the city and the people around me. As for myself, I'm a huge lovable nerd and damn proud of it. Been mixing chemicals in cups and beakers since I was a kid and have no plans on stopping any time soon unless forcibly instructed to. Aside from being a Bill Nye imitator and
Mr. Wizard admirer, I do consider myself marginally
creative. And not the sort of 'creative' that celebrities with QVC
clothing lines are because yes, every woman wants a bejeweled patchwork denim jacket. Thank you Joan Rivers for bestowing the world with such aesthetic atrocities. When I get the chance along with that rare sliver of motivation, I like to paint, collage, craft, build lincoln log towers, draw on photos of celebrities, bejewel my own denim jackets, and other lofty endeavours. As long as I get to be imaginative, I'm all for it. Even the occasional foray into cooking can be had, though, judging by the burnt mess on most of my pans, fine dining is not my forte. Though, I just want to put it out there, I'm better than Rachel Ray. God knows what putrid mash that woman is cooking.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I am a first year in a developmental biology PhD program. Essentially I move miniscule volumes of liquid from one tube to another; rinse, lather, repeat. But hey, it buys me at least another five or six years before I have to fill out this section with 'real' life goals. Ultimately, I want to be a mad scientist and make human animal hybrids. Got to start from the bottom and mutate your way on up the evolutionary tree.....
I’m really good at
Hmm, something I'm good at....forgetting to water my plants? grand conspiracy theories? pub trivia? Ken Jennings is sorta my hero even though he lost to Watson. Let's be honest though, Watson was probably cheating and Googling all the answers or asking Deep Blue for help. I can never pass up a good round of pub trivia. Not sure if it's for the beer or the trivia, but regardless, it's a win-win situation either way.
The first things people usually notice about me
My striking blue eyes? Yes? Or more probably the fact I geek out a lot and have a penchant for science. I'd like to indulge my ego a bit and go with the former, but I can't help but get excited over a science news, sci-fi films, or an episode of Modern Marvels.

Oreo Cookies + Milk (If you can't dunk 'em, what's the point)
Dry sarcasm
The Internet (with and without all the catz)
Eastern Europe (with or without the commies but certainly with the vodka)
Eating copious amounts of food. Buffets exist for a reason..and get shut down for others.
Fights about weave on reality tv shows.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If the man who voices the CTA got with the woman who voices PACE buses, what would their child voice? The free enterprise? I bet Mr. Moviefone is the grandpa.
On a typical Friday night I am
Nothing productive, that's for sure. Having a couple people over, burning a gourmet meal to my pans, getting frustrated, ordering in and pretending that I'm a fabulous cook. *waves hands* After that comes the dancing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You know how when you're a kid you say things like, "Oh when I grow up I want to be a firefighter?" Yeah-- I wanted to be a cat until I realized that it wasn't a legitimate profession. You can't survive working for treats and backrubs. I'm glad I came to that realization.
