My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an artist and craftsman. Professionally I do graphic design, but to me it's not the most important thing. Building is a big part of my life, from ships to communities.
I am thoughtful, loving, happy, sanguine, curious, artistic, handy, loyal to a fault, and a good friend.
My Jewish identity and traditions are very important to me. I keep a lot of Jewish practices, but I consider myself a cultural Jew rather than a religious one.
I'm a bubbly geeky person, with lots of joie de vivre and a big personality.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a designer in a start-up. I help run a small Jewish community for Anglos in Tel Aviv. I love getting the most out of life, enjoying the beautiful sunshine and the sea.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm great with my hands, and I love making things. I'm an artist, I build very detailed wooden ship models, I love fixing things around the house and I love to make handmade presents for my friends.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My voice is loud, so that usually gets me noticed pretty quickly...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love too many books to mention, but my favorite books in the whole world are the Aubrey-Maturin series. In what other book can you smell the very sea air? Some of my other favorites are the Vorkosigan series, Neal Stephenson, Neil Gaiman, Charlie Stross, John Scalzi, and other modern scifi. I read a lot of history, especially military history and nautical stuff. I am also interested in archaeology and the history of ancient Israel.
TV- Community, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, TNG (Picard over Kirk for sure!)
Music- anything interesting or energetic- Metal, ambient, classical, as long as it's well done.
I think that eating well is one of the true joys of life, and appreciate a good fruity Merlot.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
x-acto knife, merengues, dark chocolate, the sea, good art, and hats.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend lots of time contemplating, especially about philosophy and society. I think it's really important to think about and question why we believe and do the things we do.I think being a reflective person is very central to who I am and what I'm looking for.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Having a nice group of friends over for Shabbat dinner- never underrate! Especially if there's wine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't fall asleep unless I shower...
