I've been traveling around now for quite some time. I'm from Indiana. I studied abroad at Dublin and Aberystywth. In the process of studying abroad, and doing a Masters abroad, i've managed to travel to England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Neatherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Spain, and Slovakia. Traveling is a really important part of my life. I hope the same will be said for the next person I date:). That said: I travel when I can afford it, and when life permits me too. I don't expect to find someone who has traversed the globe. I would like to find someone who has an interest in traveling when life/finances permits, or is OK with me taking a trip occasionally.
I'm always up for a good time. I love outdoors activities, particularly fishing and canoeing. I've spent 6 summers of my life canoeing in Ontario and Manitoba, with 3.5 summers guiding trips myself. I have a kayak and love taking it out. You will almost never see me pass up a chance to grill out, camp or have a campfire. Fairly new to the area and would love to find someone to explore Co with. Although with that said, I will almost never pass up a movie night:).
I took a job here at CSU as a research associate in a tumor immunology lab. I just submitted my masters dissertation in Sept and hope to stay here for a PhD. The idea of online dating doesn't really appeal to me, but I'm at that point in my life where it would be really nice to find someone. Unfortunately most of the people I am surrounded by on a daily basis are married and so I thought I'd give this a shot.
Not looking for a piece of tail, nor do I understand why guys would use a dating site for hook ups. If I just wanted that I would join a hook up site or something along those lines. I'm not saying I don't enjoy that of course, but I'm really just looking for someone to date and develop a relationship with. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not going to try and get in your pants after the first cup of coffee! Of course I would want those things to eventually happen, but not until we have allowed a relationship to start to form and develop. No longer afraid of commitment. I'll admit that I have been single for quite some time. I went through a period of personal growth and felt like it wasn't right to commit to someone when I was just still trying to figure myself out. Traveling of course didn't make things easy on my dating life either. In a strange way, I'm glad things have worked out that way though. I know myself, what I want in a companion, and am not afraid to commit to a relationship once I've found what I'm looking for.
Honest, faithful, and affectionate. I've never cheated before and I think loyalty is one of my strong points. It's all the little things that you do to show someone you care. I want to find that person that I can get to know and develop a caring/affectionate relationship with. I'm generally quite outgoing in most situations. I'm also an animal lover and could never date anyone who does not like animals themselves. I had my dog for a little over 13 years. She just passed away a couple of weeks ago. If you've ever seen the end of My Dog Skip you would completely understand how I feel! Anyways, I won't be getting another dog for quite some time. I have put some thought into getting a pet hedgehog though!
